Juan Soto Contract Projections: Will Yankees slugger generate offers higher than Shohei Ohtani's present-day value?

Juan Soto has been a sparkplug for the New York Yankees this season. Across 44 games, he's hitting .310/.408/.530 with eight doubles, nine home runs and 34 runs batted.

The three-time All-Star is currently playing on a one-year, $31 million contract, and will be a free agent following the completion of the season. That has opened up potential contract talks with Soto this season, which is expected, per owner Hal Steinbrenner.

With the Yanks ready to discuss contract details, many wonder what Soto's new contract could look like. Could he surpass Shohei Ohtani's 10-year, $700 million contract?

Being a Scott Boras client, there's no denying that Soto will pursue the best deal he could get. While the Yanks are committed to a few large contracts, they want to return to their glory days.

Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner has not ruled out in-season contract talks with Juan Soto

As the New York Yankees took on the Minnesota Twins on Thursday afternoon, Juan Soto's contract talks were brought up during the broadcast. While Scott Boras and Hal Steinbrenner usually wait until the offseason, the two could have discussions as early as on Friday.

"This is a unique situation and a very unique player. So, I mean, I wouldn't be shocked if there was a conversation or two had possibly during the course of the season. I think it's worth doing at some point" - said Hal Steinbrenner per YES Network's Jack Curry.

Steinbrenner seems like he's seriously ready to pursue the outfielder. Yanks fans may have a few more seasons of Aaron Judge and Soto dominating the middle of the order.
