Barcelona preparing offer to sign Serie A superstar in the summer transfer window - Reports

Barcelona are now preparing to make an offer for Serie A superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as the Catalan giants start their summer transfer window movements early.

The 23-year-old Georgian winger has risen through the ranks to become one of the best players in Napoli. Last season, the Scudetto returned to Naples, and he was one of the biggest reasons why, as Kvaratskhelia scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 34 Serie A games.

This season, Partenopei did not meet expectations, as they missed out on top four, but he has maintained his ability as one of the best players in the squad. He has racked up 10 goals and six assists in 30 league games this time around, which is still an impressive return.

His performances have attracted the attention of Catalan giants Barcelona, who are interested in making a move for his services this summer. According to a report from SPORT (via Foot Mercato), the club have promised manager Xavi Hernandez that he would have the ability to make important signings for next season.

The manager is said to be an admirer of Kvaratskhelia, who plays on the left wing and would reportedly fit into Barca's plans. The 23-year-old is also interested in a move away from Italy, and it seems as though Catalonia could be his destination.

Xavi makes u-turn on exit decision, decides to stay on as Barcelona coach

Potential signings like Kvicha Kvaratskhelia will have the chance to play under Xavi Hernandez's tutelage, following his decision to stay in Catalonia. Notably, in January, the legend-turned-manager revealed his frustration with the job, stating that he would leave at the end of the season.

However, after watching Xavi impress in the latter half of the season, the club hierarchy have successfully convinced the manager to continue at Barcelona.

In a press conference, Xavi said (via ESPN):

"I love Barca and I always try to do what is in the club's best interests. In these three months [since announcing my departure], I have noticed the support from the president [Joan Laporta], the board of directors and [sporting director] Deco."

The manager added, before noting that he was willing to keep going:

"The support of the players and the fans -- who have encouraged me on the street and filled the stadium -- has also been important in deciding to reverse my decision. We probably won't win any trophies this season, but this is a winning project."

With the manager now retaining his job, the Barcelona board will have to ensure they can make the expected signings required to keep the club competing in Europe.
