Diego Schwartzman once again voiced his disapproval of the ATP's decision to exclude the ATP 250 tournament in Córdoba from the 2025 schedule. The Argentine expressed his disappointment and referenced the ongoing Italian Open.

The ATP recently released the schedule for the 2025 season and it features several changes, including adding new venues and removing some existing ones from the tour. The historic ATP 250 in Córdoba was one of the tournaments removed from the calendar.

Diego Schwartzman expressed his displeasure about the above on X (formerly Twitter). He mentioned that two Chileans, Alejandro Tabilo and Nicolas Jarry, were in the semifinals at the Italian Open and pointed out that six Latin players were ranked in the top 30 in the world.

Schwartzman also took issue with the ATP for failing to host an ATP 500 event in Argentina's capital.

"2 Chileans in semi de rome. 6 Latins among the best 30 in the world... and ATP next year takes out a tournament on the South American tour and decides not to give another ATP500 to Buenos Aires. Surely our Latinos will have to continue showing the world on the field who we are." (Translated from Spanish via Google Translate)

A few months ago, Andy Murray also appealed to the ATP to organize a Masters 1000 event in South America. Schwartzman appreciated the support from the Brit and responded on X:

"Let @atptour know this Andy! Every year they put us less support. Not just because of how the fans support the tournaments. Also how many players we have and we had on the top as u know. We deserve more than this from atp. Thanks for your words!"

Schwartzman last played at the Italian Open where he lost to Aleksandar Vukic in the first round. Before that, he failed to qualify for the main draw of the Madrid Open after losing to Albert Ramos-Vinolas in three sets in the qualifiers.

Diego Schwartzman had previously criticized the men's governing body for awarding events like the Qatar Open, Dallas Open, and Munich Open ATP 500 status but not the Argentina Open. According to him, Buenos Aires holds a significant place in the sport.

Schwartzman wrote on X:

"Bad decision by ATP... to continue promoting countries and tours that already have all kinds of tournaments and facilities, and not so to choose a tour and region of the world that has so much history in tennis and that only has 4 tournaments a year. Buenos Aires made a great effort ." (Translated from Spanish via Google Translate)

The Argentine has asked the ATP time and again to convert the Buenos Aires event into a 500-level tournament. The ATP currently organizes only two 250-level tournaments (Cordoba and Buenos Aires) in Argentina.

Diego Schwartzman recently announced that he will play his last tournament in 2025.
