On May 18, 2024, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) showcased their support for aespa's comeback by sharing a fun fact post referencing the group's pre-release title track, Supernova, for their upcoming first studio album Armageddon. The update was shared via the @NASAWebb Telescope X account, where the independent agency captioned their post as 'Su-su-su-supernova,' which is an addictive chorus from the track Supernova.

The two-minute and fifty-nine-second title track Supernova was released through SM Entertainment on May 13, 2024, with a music video. It is one of the double title tracks of the group's upcoming album Armageddon. The track has been dominating the Spotify Chart and gathered over 10.73 million streams by May 17, 2024. The music video has garnered over 42 million views on the group's official YouTube channel at the time of writing.

As the aespa is set to make their comeback on May 27, 2024, with the release of their first studio album Armageddon, NASA extended support for the group with a witty update. They shared an interesting fact stating how Supernova was crucial for the existence of life and added the chorus 'Su-su-su-supernova' from the group's title track for Armageddon. The caption reads:

"Supernovae like the one that formed Cas A (shown here) are crucial for life as we know it. They spread elements like the calcium in our bones and the iron in our blood across space, seeding new generations of stars and planets."

Soon, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) update went viral among the K-pop community. It created a buzz on social media, with many fans weaving a plethora of compliments for aespa's creativity that compiled a prestigious agency like NASA to extend support for the group. The fandom shared multiple snippets from the track's music video and encouraged others to stream their song.

Supernova has been described as a dance song accompanied by elements, including a catchy top line, heavy kick and bass, synth melody, and others. The lyrical part of the title track describes aespa's broadened view of the world in comparison to an unprecedented occasion/event that opens the door to a new dimension of a supernova. The event conveys the start of a big explosion and the music video takes the group's multiverse concept into its second chapter.

Armageddon will feature ten tracks, including Supernova, Armageddon, Set the Tone, Mine, Licorice, Bahama, Long Chat, Prologue, Live My Life, and Melody. It is the group's first full-fledged studio album since their debut on November 17, 2020, with the single track Black Mamba.

Meanwhile, aespa recently delivered an electrifying performance on Supernova at the MBC's Show! Music Core and SBS's Inkigayo on May 18 and 19, respectively.

The South Korean K-pop girl group is known for their metaverse and hyperpop concept in the K-pop industry. The group has recorded 34 songs, including 29 in Korean, four in English, and one in Japanese. Some of the group's songs, include Die Trying, Drama, Better Things, Regret of the Times, Pokemon 2023, Hold on Tight, Life's Too Short, Illusion, Savage, and others.


aespa featuring Karina, Winter, Ningning, and Giselle will make their much-awaited comeback on May 27, 2024, with the release of their second title track, Armageddon.
