5 Conspiracy theories surrounding Disney movies

This list will explore several conspiracy theories chronicling popular Disney movies.

1) Carl dies in the beginning of Up

One of the biggest conspiracy theories chronicling a popular Disney movie has to do with its 2009 release Up. Often dubbed as the saddest movie released by the media conglomerate, some theorists believe that the film was an allegory for Carl Fredricksen's journey into the afterlife.

They believe that the title character was dead at the beginning of the film along with his lovely wife, Ellie. So, according to them, what the audiences saw as Carl's journey to Paradise Falls was, in reality, a depiction of his journey to the afterlife. Russell, who was Carl's companion in his journey, is an angel responsible for guiding him into his life after death.

2) Peter Pan drains the youth out of children

Another popular Disney conspiracy theory chronicles the timeless adage of Peter Pan and his whereabouts. This theory states that Peter Pan was the bad person in the film as opposed to his portrayal on screen.

The theory suggests that Peter Pan was a child kidnapper who used to abduct children from their homes and drain their youths. Because of this, Peter Pan never aged. The theory further suggests that Peter Pan would drain the youthful spirits of a particular set of children, discard them, and move on to another set, maintaining a cycle.

3) Nemo does not exist in Finding Nemo

Another crazy conspiracy theory to be out there in the open chronicles Disney's 2003 release, Finding Nemo. Some theorists believe Nemo was not a flesh and blood character, but a figment of Marlin's imagination. They believe that the Barracuda Attack destroyed the egg containing Nemo, along with all the other eggs.

The theory also suggests that the entire premise of Marlin trying to look for his lost son was him trying to cope with the loss of his family.

4) The toys in Toy Story were just toys

One of the most prominent Disney conspiracy theories chronicles the Toy Story franchise. The theory focuses on the nature of the toys depicted in the movie and claims that they were not special, but were just normal toys like any other.

As viewers of the films would know, the toys in the popular franchise led a dual life: as toys and as toys who inhibit human-like characteristics. But this theory debunks that idea on two premises. Firstly, it was strange that throughout Andy's childhood, no one found out the actual truth behind the toys. Secondly, when Sid found out that the toys had a life of their own, he revealed it to no one.

5) Sulley from Monsters Inc. meets a sad end

One of the popular Disney conspiracy theories suggests that Sulley from Monsters Inc. is dead. His death was not at all easy, as the theory suggests that a human killed and skinned him and then turned him into a toilet seat. This is something Randall, a character from the movie, had suggested humans do to monsters like them.

Although Sulley and the audiences had taken the incident lightly earlier, an instance from the 2012 short film, Toy Story Toons: Partysaurus Rex, put a seal of stamp on the theory. In a scene from the film where Bonnie is playing with the toys in the bathtub, there is a toilet that is covered with a material that looks very familiar. The theorists suggest that Sulley's skin is used to make the toilet seat.
