American reality TV star Jenelle Evans was granted a restraining order against her estranged husband, David Eason. The Teen Mom participant and Eason have had a tumultuous relationship and officially separated in March 2024 after six years together.

According to a report by PEOPLE, Evans' request for a six-month protective restraining order was granted on May 16. The order will force David Eason to stay away from Jenelle Evans and their three children.

In a statement made to PEOPLE following the verdict, Jenelle Evans' manager, August Keen, said,

"Jenelle is excited to move forward with her life. She's focused on her children, herself, and her career. She expressed huge relief after the judge granted the restraining order."

Keen also sheds some light on Evans' plans for the future, which include more episodes of Teen Mom.

"She hasn't been this happy in a very long time. Big things are already lined up for her, and she looks forward to her bright future. A lot of surprises in store, which can be seen on future episodes of Teen Mom."

David Eason has been ordered to maintain distance from Jenelle Evans and the children

Jenelle Evans' lawyer, Brandon Pettijohn, provided more details about the restraining order against David Eason in a conversation with the U.S. Sun. Pettijohn said that, as per the order, Eason would not be able to post about the children of his estranged wife on social media. He has been barred from visiting the children in school. Eason was also instructed to hand over his firearms.

The lawyer also revealed that no additional provisions have been made regarding the active child custody case over seven-year-old Ensley Jolie. Evans and Eason also share Jace Vahn and Kaiser Orion with exes Andrew Lewis and Nathan Griffith.

The Teen Mom alum and David Eason got married in a lavish affair in September 2017 before splitting in October 2019 and getting back together in early 2020. In the past, there have been reports of Eason assaulting Evans and shooting Jenelle Evans' dog.

In a 911 phone call in October 2019, Evans described the assault, saying,

"My husband, he just assaulted me. He pinned me down on the ground in the yard, and I think I heard my f**king collarbone crack, and I can't move my arms."

The reality star announced their most recent estrangement on her TikTok, stitched with Lady Gaga's Applause. The post said,

"Can I get some appreciation? I filed for separation."

Evans opened up about her separation in a follow-up TikTok, where she explained the reason behind filing for separation before a divorce. As per North Carolina laws, said Jenelle Evans, a couple has to be separated for a year and have separate addresses before a divorce can be considered.

"Whenever I had the window of opportunity that I was able to file for separation, and I filed something called separation by bed and board. If you guys see each other one time, hook up, and end up back together just for a night, but then you argue, and you're like, 'Nah,hthis isn't going good,' it doesn't matter. The clock restarts, so they're very particular here, which is crazy."

David Eason has faced several other controversies throughout their marriage, including homophobic Twitter rants, for which he was fired from Teen Mom 2.
