The 44-year-old Stacy Feldman was strangled to death moments after her husband's mistress, Susan McBride, contacted her. Stacy's husband, Robert Feldman, had met Susan on an online dating app under the alias of Bob Feldman and had allegedly told her that he had been divorced from his wife.

How was Susan McBride involved in Stacy Feldman's murder case? Details explored

As per PEOPLE, Susan McBride matched with Bob Feldman on Tinder in February 2015. Having known that Bob was a divorced man, Susan went on a couple of dates with him and had gotten intimate with him at least on one occasion.

However, McBride found out the truth about Bob Feldman and approached Stacy out of goodwill to inform her of her husband's infidelity. According to the New York Post, Susan recalled her March 1, 2015, conversation with Stacy as she said:

“I said, ‘My name’s Susan McBride. You don’t know me, but I met your husband on a dating site called Tinder. He told me you had been separated for quite some time. If you’re not separated, you should know that he’s cheating on you.'”

Susan located Stacy Feldman's mail address and initially mailed her before the two connected over a five-minute phone call shortly before 9 am local time, according to 9News. Robert had allegedly mentioned Stacy as an absentee mother of their two children.

While Stacy confirmed her marital status, she reportedly mentioned that it wasn't the first time Robert Feldman had cheated on her. According to Robert's arrest affidavit, Stacy Feldman said she was done with him.

Six hours later, the first responders were at the South Pontiac Way house where Stacy Feldman was found in her bathtub. She was pronounced dead at 3:56 pm local time and her body was covered in bruises. Assistant District Attorney Maggie Conboy mentioned about the homicide detective at the scene:

“He had never been to a scene where there was not water all over the floor when a body is pulled out of the tub."

Susan McBride learned of Stacy Feldman's murder after three months when she looked up the couple on the internet following a bad internet date. She contacted the Crime Stoppers to relay the information that helped the detectives crack the case open.

What did Susan McBride testify at Robert Feldman's trial?

Susan McBride turned into a key witness in Stacy Feldman's murder case and thus, took the stand against Robert Feldman in his trial. She mentioned that Robert had used the name Mike Reed at one point and Robert Wolfe at another.

She went on to read the messages exchanged between the two of them that allegedly seemed easy-going. However, McBride reportedly tried to break off from Robert as she failed to find his presence online. Robert Feldman persuaded her saying that he had been a victim of a stalker and had been separated from his wife.

The motive behind Stacy Feldman's murder could have either been the fallout with Stacy Feldman regarding his affair with McBride or the insurance payout of $750,000 from American General Life Insurance that he received in June 2015.
