Welcome back to another exciting edition of AEW News Roundup, which will bring you all the biggest news stories coming from the world of All Elite Wrestling.

We'll start today's edition with none other than Shane McMahon, who's been making the rounds on social media lately due to his reported WWE release. Rumors of him joining Tony Khan's promotion have been swirling ever since, and a popular wrestling veteran has weighed in on this possibility.

Meanwhile, a top star provided surprising revelations regarding his relationship with CM Punk. Beyond the lead news stories, we have plenty to discuss today. Let's dive into today's roundup.

#5 Jim Cornette slams rumors of Shane McMahon joining AEW

Shane McMahon was quietly let go by WWE, reportedly due to issues stemming from the Men's Royal Rumble match. Since this news broke, rumors of Vince McMahon's son potentially signing with AEW have been swirling on social media.

Moreover, a recent report from Wade Keller has added fuel to the fire, saying that some people within WWE want Tony Khan to know "what he's in for" if he tries to reach out to Shane.

While discussing the situation on the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, the legendary manager doubted the credibility of these reports and rumors. The wrestling veteran doesn't think the 52-year-old veteran would work for any promotion unless he needs money. In his mind, this doesn't apply to any members of the McMahon family.

"There's no way on earth unless Vince somehow breaks into Shane's house that Shane would work for an opposite promotion to his own father," said Cornette. "And he doesn't need the money, nobody in that family needs the money." (17:48 - 18:08)

Shane McMahon joining All Elite Wrestling would surely shock the wrestling world. But as of this writing, these rumors may go down as mere talk and nothing more.

#4 AEW star Eddie Kingston explains why he doesn't like CM Punk

Eddie Kingston recently explained how he truly feels about fellow AEW star CM Punk. The two men went to extreme lengths to insult each other during their heated rivalry last year. Kingston and Punk then had a brutal match at Full Gear, and The Straight Edge Superstar emerged victorious.

While speaking on the WrestleTalk Podcast, The Mad King stated that he and Punk truly don't like each other:

"Punk knows we don't like each other," said Kingston. "We don't. Because I personally feel and he knows this because I've said it in the back."

Kingston further questioned Punk's character and called it "an act." The 40-year-old star believes that the former WWE Champion only likes working with Allin because of the AEW star's immense popularity:

"But he knows this like I don't think what he's doing right now is him, and it is all an act, you know I mean, I look at him in the eyes, it's all an act," Kingston continued. "Him hugging Darby telling Darby, 'Hey man, I'm gonna help you.' He don't care. He's doing that because Darby is hot."

There's clearly real-life heat between Punk and Kingston, as fans witnessed during their previous encounter.

#3 Bryan Danielson wants to face AEW veteran Sting

Bryan Danielson recently expressed his desire to face fellow AEW star Sting. In an interview with Muscle and Fitness, Danielson touched on numerous topics, including the list of wrestlers he would like to share the ring with in the future. The former WWE Superstar made it clear that he wants to compete against Jon Moxley.

Although the veteran knows the two men have clashed multiple times in WWE, he wants to experience what it's like facing Mox under the unfettered in-ring environment of All Elite Wrestling.

Furthermore, The American Dragon made it clear his inner child would love to fulfill his dream of facing Sting:

"I’d love to wrestle Moxley in this [AEW] scenario, versus the WWE scenario, you know what I mean? Where we are a little bit freer and more unleashed, because I think he’s fantastic," said Danielson. "There’s one more that would just be supercool for the fans, and for the kid inside of me, and that would be Sting."

Only time will tell whether or not Danielson gets to share the ring with the WCW icon. But he could be on a collision course with Moxley, given the two men's recent interactions on Dynamite.

#2 Disco Inferno explains possible reason why Adam Cole hasn't reached his full potential in AEW

Adam Cole has faced massive criticism over his booking since joining AEW last year. He recently suffered his first singles defeat at the hands of Orange Cassidy, which led to many assuming that the company may have given up on the former NXT Champion.

While speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno said Cole was not being "buried" on purpose. The veteran held the 32-year-old star responsible for his underwhelming booking in AEW programming due to his association with The Elite. Specifically, he criticized the way the stable has been doing "goofy comedy stuff" lately.

"He's [Adam Cole] not being buried on purpose," said Inferno. "Cole likes to do that. Cole was in these Being The Elite all the time doing all this comedy. He likes to do all the goofy comedy stuff," Disco Inferno said. "I don't think he needs it, but he's all over Being The Elite doing all this goofy stuff, you know, so he likes doing this, working with Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends."

The Panama City Playboy recently defeated Evil Uno in a one-sided affair match on Rampage and declared that he'd be going after the World Championship.

Previous reports have suggested that the company is planning to book a program between Cole and Page heading into Revolution this year.

#1 Renee Paquette wants Jon Moxley to team up with Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson recently confronted Jon Moxley and pitched the idea of joining forces in All Elite Wrestling.

This development has sparked discussion on social media, with fans and veterans alike talking about the pros and cons of the two men teaming up with each other.

Moxley's wife, Renee Paquette, has also given her a take on the matter. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, the former WWE personality agreed to Danielson's promo in which the AEW star said Mox was the best AEW World Champion.

"I agree, 100%," said Paquette. "I do feel like Jon was the best AEW Champion. He did it during the old no fans section of having AEW, he didn’t have a crowd around while he was champion, he kind of had to trudge through the mud on that one."

Paquette further said that she would love to see Mox and Bryan work together. However, she couldn't convince her husband regarding the decision because he tunes her out whenever she brings up wrestling.

"I assure you when I talk wrestling to my husband [Jon Moxley] he tunes me out, so don’t worry about it, guys," Paquette added. "I do what I can, but he’s not listening to me either. That man does whatever he wants.”

Based on Paquette's comments, it's clear that Mox prefers making his own decisions. From here on out, it will be interesting to see how the storyline between Moxley and Danielson unfolds.
