The future of Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks) is something that the whole wrestling industry is paying keen attention to. New reports have just surfaced continuing to link her to AEW, revealing that she could join the promotion sooner rather than later.

Previously, The Boss was rumored to be headed to WWE, but during conversations about remunerationapparently, they were far apart. This still does not close the door for a return to the company, as nothing is said and done until she signed a contract with a promotion. This is where AEW came in, as they too are still in the run to sign her.

On the Mat Men Podcast, Andrew Zarian recently addressed the possibility of Mercedes Moné heading to AEW. He revealed that he found out about a part of a storyline and believed that she could be a part of this. Zarian still expected her to make the move to the Jacksonville-based promotion, but did not have a specific timeline. He said that this would be sooner than later.

“I still expect her (Mercedes Moné) to go AEW, I haven't heard anything other than that. People are like ‘how are you so sure?’ Well, I was told a very specific piece of that story that would mean that she is going if she is involved in this. I never said this week. I didn’t say next week. I said it’s soon, and I don’t know when soon is. Soon could be 6 weeks, soon could be 4 weeks, it’s soon. Sooner than later.” [H/T WrestlePurists]

Mercedes Moné recently teased WWE return

As long as her contract is not signed, there is still a possibility of Mercedes Moné heading back to WWE, and she recently teased an appearance at their upcoming premium live event, the iconic Royal Rumble.

On her recent Instagram story, Moné would post her appearance at the 2022 Royal Rumble match, as she wore a Sailor Moon-inspired outfit. She called this one of her favorites of all time.

"One of my favorite gears of all time," wrote Moné.

The timing of this is impeccable as this year's edition of Royal Rumble takes place in a few weeks. Till then, fans will have to wait if WWE once more pulls off a CM Punk-style situation, or if Tony Khan was able to snag her away from them.
