Flau'jae Johnson explains how she uses Mamba mentality to her benefit on the court: “It’s just that Kobe’s mindset”

Flau'jae Johnson has become a phenomenal example of a college athlete who is also trying to further herself in the entertainment industry using her rapping talents. She not only performs well on the court but also spews witty bars and verses off it.

The SEC All-Freshman Team member engaged in an in-depth conversation on "The Rookie Live" at the Samsung 837 store in New York City, where Johnson and Carl Lamarre, the host of the show, discussed her being a "walking bucket" on the court. The conversation then shifted to her thoughts on the Mamba mentality and how she uses it to her advantage.

"You gotta be able to be consistent and be able to be disciplined in order to be successful in whatever you do," Johnson said as per Short N Sweet Entertainment.

"It’s just that mindset - like Kobe’s mindset is like second to none and I wanted to see how I could beat my opponents or kind of beat the world in a sense with my routine and my habits. It kind of just made me a better player on the court and off the court."

Along with being a part of the LSU Lady Tigers, one of the highly regarded rosters in women's college basketball, Flau'jae Johnson also landed a distribution deal with Jay-Z's company Roc Nation.

The LSU star, who has a NIL valuation of $1.2 million as per On3.com, has become one of the most recognizable faces in women's college basketball. Along with her, fans have fallen in love with other college stars like the UConn Huskies' Paige Bueckers and the USC Trojans' JuJu Watkins.

The release of ESPN's "Full Court Press" allowed fans to get an unprecedented view into the lives of Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso, and KiKi Rice. The docuseries followed the three hoopers throughout the 2023–2024 college basketball season.

The series was a huge success, which is why Front Office Sports reported that a sequel is in the works. The three leading ladies of the series could be UConn's Paige Bueckers, LSU's Flau'jae Johnson, and USC's JuJu Watkins.

Bueckers is an obvious choice for many because of her incredibly fast comeback after sustaining several injuries. Flau'jae Johnson is known for her basketball talents and also for being a talented rapper off the court. Watkins is a freshman who has wowed college hoops fans with her performance on the hard court.
