This week’s big match will be played between Arsenal and Manchester City

Gameweek 29 turned out to be brilliant for Chelsea who had another solid outing against a resilient Stoke City who conceded a late goal and lost the game 2-1. Manchester United finally got away from the clutches of the 6th spot after beating Middlesbrough away from home.

North London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal had polar opposite results as Spurs defeated Southampton 2-1 whereas the Gunners failed to hit the target against West Brom and lost the match 3-1, thanks to some shambolic defending.

The week’s most exciting match ended in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool and Manchester City fought it out in a match that had plenty of chances but few goals to show for.

Forwards

Jamie Vardy is all set for another party

Diego Costa – £10.7

The Spaniard would surely be salivating at the prospect of their upcoming game against London rivals Crystal Palace. Whilst not blazing away like the at the beginning of the season, the forward still has two goals and two assists in his last five. Palace might have posted three back to back clean sheets but it will be a mammoth task to keep the Chelsea frontline at bay.

Jamie Vardy – £9.8

Ranieri’s sacking may have been controversial but it has certainly resulted in a rejuvenated Leicester City. The Foxes look in great form and their main striker Jamie Vardy certainly looks to be back to his best. Vardy has produced three goals and two assists in his last three matches and with a fixture at home against Stoke City around the corner, we expect Vardy to deliver the goods.

Jermain Defoe – £7.8

Sunderland’s main man Defoe could be a great pick for this gameweek considering that the club face Watford, a team that has not kept a single cleansheet in their last 5 matches and have conceded 9 goals in the same. The English forward has just 2 goals in the same duration but this game seems to be the perfect opportunity for him to come back in action. The North East club will definitely be banking on his offensive prowess if they want to win this match which is extremely crucial for their survival in the league.

Midfielders

King is a superb budget option who is listed as a midfielder but actually, plays as a striker

Joshua King – £5.8

The Norwegian who is listed as a midfielder in the game plays as a forward for the Cherries. King has been absolutely sensational in the past few weeks and has racked up 57 points in the last six fixtures, gathering eight bonus points along the way. With seven goals and a single assist under his belt in this duration, King has turned out to be an extremely good budget option. Despite a tough schedule coming up for Bournemouth, a budget option like King will surely do more good than harm.

Son Heung-Min – £6.9

The attacking midfielder will be starting up top in Harry Kane’s absence and could be a wonderful differential option with a selection rate of just 5.6%. The South Korean also offers to be a much cheaper alternative to get into the Spurs attack which has been doing extremely well this season. Son is a wonderful quick fix solution to any ailing midfield although the player will get benched once Harry Kane is back from injury.

Manuel Lanzini – £6.4

The Argentine midfielder has been in top form for the past few games. A dead ball specialist, Lanzini has put some superbly hit free kicks into the back of the net. West Ham face Hull City and the Tigers have not kept a single clean sheet in their last five matches. They’ve conceded 11 goals in this duration and won only a single match. The Hammers will definitely be favourites for this match against them and Lanzini looks like a good bet to pop up with a goalscoring opportunity.

Raheem Sterling – £7.3

The winger has had a superb season under Pep Guardiola and continues to give some promising returns. Despite not being the best finisher around, Sterling frequently gets goalscoring opportunities and has the ability to set up his teammates as well. The Englishman has scored six goals and provided 12 assists this season in the Premier League. A game against a faltering Arsenal may be another fixture where Sterling’s pace will be a problem for Arsenal’s currently miserable defence.

Defenders

SWANSEA, WALES - MARCH 04: Alfie Mawson of Swansea City shows appreciation to the fans after the Premier League match between Swansea City and Burnley at Liberty Stadium on March 4, 2017 in Swansea, Wales. (Photo by Stu Forster/Getty Images)
Mawson’s goalscoring ability has brought him to our team for this week

Antonio Valencia – £5.8

The Ecuadorian player has been on the radar of several FPL managers for quite some time after some consistent performances for the Red Devils. Gifted with insane work rate, the right back has been extremely reliable at the back for Manchester United. The fullback has produced a goal and a couple of assists in his last five fixtures whilst also being able to keep three clean sheets during this time. His price will certainly increase even more and it is recommended that you snap him up before it is too late.

Marcos Alonso – £6.8

Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso has often given us points even if Chelsea do not keep a clean sheet. The Spaniard averages 5.5 points per match which is a brilliant tally for a defender in the game. Alonso constantly bombards forward and this often gets him right amidst the action. Chelsea who host Crystal Palace will have to put in a solid performance as a defensive unit. The South London club have only scored 4 goals in their last 5 matches and will have a tough time breaking through the Chelsea backline.

Alfie Mawson – £4.6

The English centre-back may have scored an own goal in his last outing but that should not deter you from taking the defender who has shown a knack for scoring goals. The player has scored four goals this season and has become a regular for the club after some strong performances. Swansea are up against Middlesbrough, a team that has been terrible going forward. The prospects of getting points are high in this matchup.

Goalkeeper

SUNDERLAND, ENGLAND - MARCH 05: Jordan Pickford of Sunderland gives his team mates instructions during the Premier League match between Sunderland and Manchester City at Stadium of Light on March 5, 2017 in Sunderland, England. (Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images)
Pickford has had a great commanding presence at the back for Sunderland

Jordan Pickford – £4.1

Sunderland’s impressive young keeper has been one of their most consistent performers since the time he became the first choice keeper. Pickford has the potential of delivering lots of points through saves due to his high save percentage.

The Black Cats play Watford at Vicarage Road and will have to do their level best to get all 3 points away from home. The Hornets have scored five goals in their last five matches, however, three of those goals came in one of them. Watford’s offensive prowess certainly seems diminished and Pickford’s price point and potential to get points make him a good choice.

Total team value: £76
