1. FC Köln v 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 - Bundesliga
FC Koln take on Heidenheim in the final game of the 2023-24 Bundesliga campaign on Saturday

Relegation-threatened FC Koln will be hoping for a closing-day miracle when they take on Heidenheim in the Bundesliga season finale on Saturday. Timo Schultz’s men journey to Voith-Arena looking to move out of the automatic relegation places as they sit three points behind 16th-placed Union Berlin.

Heidenheim were involved in a share of the spoils for a second consecutive game as they played out a 1-1 draw with Freiburg last weekend.

With that result, Frank Schmidt’s side have now gone unbeaten in seven of their last eight Bundesliga matches, claiming two wins and five draws since mid-March.

Heidenheim are currently ninth in the league standings, level on 39 points with Augsburg and Werder Bremen.

Koln, on the other hand, picked up three huge points in their relegation dogfight as they fought back from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over fellow strugglers Union Berlin.

Prior to that, Schultz’s men were on a four-match winless run — claiming two points from a possible 12 — and had won just one of their previous 13 matches across all competitions since February.

Die Geißböcke sit 17th in the league table, three points behind 16th-placed Union Berlin just above the automatic drop zone. While Koln know that they must win on Saturday, they also need Union Berlin to come up short against Freiburg if they are to finish in the relegation playoff spot.

Heidenheim vs FC Koln Head-To-Head

This will be the fourth-ever meeting between Heidenheim and Koln, with Schultz’s men claiming one win and two draws in their previous three encounters.
