Arsenal‘s official club website has confirmed that defender Ignasi Miquel has completed a season long loan move to Leicester City. The Spanish U-21 international has made 14 appearances for the Gunners since joining them in 2009.
Arsenal want their 20-year-old to get as much game time as possible and being at the Emirates would mean chances of that happening are minimal. Hence, the move has been facilitated.
The statement read: “Ignasi Miquel has joined Championship side Leicester City on a season-long loan. With his first-team opportunities limited to the Capital One Cup and one league outing last term, Miquel heads to the King Power Stadium for the opportunity of more regular competitive football. Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish ‘Iggy’ well for his season with the Foxes.”
