Erik ten Hag provides update on Marcus Rashford's contract situation at Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Marcus Rashford contract talks are going on behind the scenes at the club. He wants the radio silence to continue until there is a breakthrough in talks.

Rashford had his contract extended by a season and will be entering the final 12 months of his deal this summer, but he is not close to penning a new one. The Englishman reportedly wants to stay, but the club are yet to offer him terms close to his expectations.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match against Bournemouth on May 20, Ten Hag claimed that he was in the know of things going on at the back. However, the Manchester United manager did not want to shed details and said via Daily Mail:

"Let the process go. Once again, this is not important at the moment for me or Rashy. For him, it is to get more goals this season. He is playing a wonderful season and the team is playing a wonderful season. We have to get into the Champions League and focus on that. Marcus wants to stay and we want him to stay, so I think we will find each other."

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had earlier confirmed that they are keeping tabs on Rashford.

Paul Parker wants more from Marcus Rashford at Manchester United

Paul Parker has claimed that Manchester United are not benefiting from Marcus Rashford right now. The former Red Devils defender believes that the Englishman is not improving the players around him and told BonusBetCodes:

"It's time to talk about whether Marcus Rashford deserves to be in the starting lineup. We can no longer avoid that conversation. His goals have dried up and scoring goals is his biggest strength."

He added:

"Is he really looking like a player who is going to score a goal? I think we have to say no. Is he creating anything? No. Is he really affecting other teams? I think the answer is no to be perfectly honest. He wasn't there against Brighton or West Ham."

Parker claimed that Rashford isn't using his strength in the game, as he said:

"He has strengths but he doesn't want to use them. His strength is to run in behind and take on players, beat opponents and he is not doing that. He can't play in the middle and the manager knows that."

Rashford has missed the last couple of matches through injury and was not in Manchester United's squad to face Bournemouth on Saturday. He is still the top scorer at the club in the league this season with 16 goals and five assists from his 33 Premier League games.
