Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has provided an interesting response when asked about Arne Slot's impending arrival at Anfield. The left-back hinted that a deal is indeed in the works. However, he insisted that the Reds can't afford to give too much attention to that while the season is still on.

Liverpool's search for Jurgen Klopp's replacement appears to be nearing a candid destination. The Reds have reportedly decided to settle for Feyenoord manager Arne Slot who is also eager to make the move in the summer.

According to Mirror, the Merseysiders have reached a verbal agreement with Feyenoord over a compensation package for the Dutchman's services. Slot is now expected to switch to Anfield but that'll only be in the summer as Klopp is expected to see out the season.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's (April 27) Premier League clash with West Ham United, Andy Robertson seemingly confirmed Slot's imminent arrival. However, he insisted that the club rather focus on giving the current boss a fitting send-off.

“It’s obviously something that we can’t focus on now,” the defender told TNT Sports ahead of kick-off. “There has been a lot of talk in the last couple of days and it looks like it’s nearly finalised, if not finalised."
“But we have to focus on this season and focus on trying to give this manager our all till the end and give him the farewell he deserves with what he has done for this club. That is what us as players have to focus on and we will focus on the new era when it comes to it in the summer," he added.

Liverpool recorded yet another disappointment as they played out a 2-2 draw with West Ham United in their Premier League clash at the London Stadium. They've now dropped nine points in their last five games.

The aftermath of the West Ham draw on Liverpool

Dropping two points against the Hammers has put Liverpool in a more unfavorable position for the Premier League title. The Reds now occupy the third position in the Premier League table with 75 points in 35 games.

They're currently one point behind second-placed Manchester City, who have two outstanding games to their advantage. The Reds are one point behind table-toppers Arsenal who also have a game in hand that'll be played this weekend.

Considering how things are at the moment with just three games left to go, Liverpool can already forget about the title this season. As a matter of fact, while the Reds are breaking down, their title rivals appear to be getting stronger and have recorded convincing results in recent games.
