Arsenal's Brazilian stars come to the fore in win against Sevilla.

Arsenal bounced back to winning ways in the UEFA Champions League with a 2-1 victory against Sevilla thanks to some Brazilian magic from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Ligue 1 side Lens on matchday two which was Mikel Arteta's men's first defeat of the season. They went up against a Los Nervionenses side buoyed by their 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in La Liga on the weekend.

It was Arsenal who took the lead in the 45+3rd minute through Martinelli. The north Londoners broke on the counter with Jesus playing his fellow countryman through on goal. He rounded Sevilla's Norweigan goalkeeper Orjan Nyland and placed it into an empty net.

The goal came at an important time for Arteta's Gunners as they headed into the break 1-0 up. They quickly doubled their advantage eight minutes into the second half.

Jesus conjured up a scintillating goal, toying with former Manchester City right-back Jesus Navas on the left flank. He then fired into Nyland's top corner with a ferocious effort that gave the keeper no chance.

However, Sevilla got themselves back into the game in the 58th minute. A perfect cross from Ivan Rakitic found Nemanja Gudelj who powered home a header that left Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya rooted to his spot.

Mariano nearly grabbed an equalizer with a phenomenal volley in the 63rd minute. However, Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg ruled the former Real Madrid striker handled the ball before firing against the crossbar.

Sevilla were putting the visitors under the cosh and Raya produced a fabulous save to deny them at the death. Arteta's men held on to clinch a 2-1 victory and get back to winning ways in Europe's elite club competition.

One fan thinks Sevilla are destined to return to the UEFA Europa League:

Another fan was wowed by Gabriel Jesus' effort:

There was cause for concern in the 81st minute when Gabriel Jesus started limping. Arsenal immediately sent Eddie Nketiah on for the Brazilian striker and fears grew over the extent of his injury.

Arteta spoke after the win against Sevilla and admitted he was concerned about Jesus' injury. He told TNT Sports:

"He felt something in his hamstring so let's see. He straight away asked to be subbed which is not good news because he's not a player that does that at all. We'll have to wait and see in the next few days."

If Jesus has picked up a significant injury it will be a massive blow for the Gunners. The 26-year-old dazzled against the La Liga side tonight, taking his tally for the season to four goals and one assist in 11 games across competitions.
