According to Relevo, Real Madrid are unlikely to sign Alphonso Davies in the summer and have shifted their approach toward signing a new center-back.

Los Blancos reportedly had an agreement with Davies regarding a summer move. However, the likes of Juni Calafat and Jose Manuel Sanchez have decided to shift their attention towards finding a new central defender.

The reason for the change in the decision is Nacho Fernandez's impending arrival. Several sources, including transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, has reported that the veteran will leave in the summer and Inter Milan are interested in him.

Apart from that, Los Blancos are also worried about David Alaba's fitness after he suffered an ACL injury in December. There are doubts about the Austrian's fitness at the moment.

As a result, Real Madrid are looking for a new center-back and 18-year-old LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro tops their wishlist. The prodigious French talent has put top European clubs in notice with his performances this season.

As for Davies, Los Blancos could come back for the Canada international next summer. Ferland Mendy will be out of contract at the end of the 2024-25 season. Davies could yet again emerge as a top target at that time.

Real Madrid receive fitness boost ahead of Bayern clash

Real Madrid are set to take on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals first leg at the Allianz Arena on April 30. Ahead of the game, Los Blancos have received two major injury boosts.

Brazilian attacker Rodrygo, as well as defensive mainstay Ferland Mendy have recovered from their respective fitness issues and both are deemed fit to face the Bavarians, as per Marca.

Los Blancos defeated Manchester City via penalties after the quarter-finals ended 4-4 on aggregate following two legs. They have since beaten Barcelona (3-2) and Real Sociedad (1-0) in La Liga.
