What's the story?

As per Cagesieseats.com, Dana White, who is the President of the UFC, has stated after UFC 232 that Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Cormier could still happen, though it is unclear as of now if it will.

The rumors to a possible Brock Lesnar return to UFC were sparked when the Beast Incarnate made an appearance after the main event of UFC 226 and entered into a minor scuffle with Champion Daniel Cormier.

In case you didn't know...

Brock Lesnar is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion but has not competed in the Octagon after UFC 200 where he had faced Mark Hunt.

The Beast Incarnate is currently in his second reign as the WWE Universal Champion, which he won by defeating Braun Strowman for the vacant title after Roman Reigns had to relinquish it due to suffering from leukemia.

The heart of the matter

It was being believed that after dropping the Universal Championship to Reigns at Summerslam, Lesnar would be done with WWE and move back to UFC full-time.

However, him winning back the Universal Championship has apparently put those plans on hold. Judging by Dana White's statement, it looks like we will surely be getting Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Cormier in the future. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.

What's next?

The former WWE Champion is all set to clash again with The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman at WWE's Royal Rumble 2018 PPV where he will put his Universal Championship on the line.

While many favor Strowman to win, the chances of Lesnar retaining are high and I don't see him dropping the belt anytime before Wrestlemania 35.
