Daniel Cormier recently offered a scathing review of fight judge Doug Crosby when discussing Paddy Pimblett's contentious unanimous decision victory over Jared Gordon at UFC 282.

Crosby's scorecard was a major bone of dispute in the decision, having scored the first and second rounds for Pimblett. Ron McCarthy also submitted the same card, but Crosby was the focus of attention after providing scorecards that sparked controversy on consecutive evenings.

Crosby's controversial judgment in the main event of Bellator 289 between Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello (50-45 in favor of Sabatello) became a heated topic of conversation in the MMA community one day before UFC 282. Stots went as far as to imply that he did not wish for Crosby to score his fights in the future.

Touching upon the issue that plagues the sport today on his YouTube channel, Daniel Cormier stated:

"The judging in fighting has almost become a joke. One guy in particular, Douglas Crosby, I heard he's a bully too. Some of the stories you hear about this guy is some of the most insane stuff I've ever heard. He's got bad scorecards and now the guy's under review and we'll see what happens."

Crosby's contentious decisions have now come under the Nevada Athletic Commission's radar. Additionally, the Mohegan Athletic Department, which oversaw the Bellator event, released a statement regarding Sabatello vs. Stots, stating that it had "informed all three judges that we will be reviewing the fight together."

Sean O'Malley was stunned when Paddy Pimblett was awarded a unanimous decision victory at UFC 282

UFC 282 delivered some exciting fights, but the event was tainted by highly contentious decisions in the main and co-main events. Paddy Pimblett was awarded a unanimous decision victory over Jared Gordon, while the general consensus suggested otherwise.

At UFC 280, Sean O'Malley faced a similar situation when his split-decision victory over Petr Yan became a hot topic of discussion. While O'Malley stated that he would like to rewatch the fight before jumping to any conclusions, Paddy Pimblett was extremely confident that he had earned the decision victory.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, O'Malley stated that he was shocked when Bruce Buffer announced the unanimous decision in favor of Paddy Pimblett:

“When we all watched it, there were a bunch of people in the room. I don’t think there was one person that scored the fight [in favor of Pimblett] and that’s coming from me who literally everyone just said that about a couple months ago. Everyone in our building was like, ‘Damn, Paddy lost.’ 100 percent. Then it was a unanimous decision and I’m like, ‘Well, I thought Paddy won at least one round.’ But then they announce that [unanimous decision]. What?!”
