Daniel Cormier has weighed in on the upcoming heavyweight clash between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.

In a recent episode of the 'DC & RC' Show, the former multi-division champion discussed the title fight. According to 'DC', Jones did not possess 'jarring power' in his punches. Cormier opined that in order to emerge victorious, 'Bones' would have to rely on his skills.

"I'll tell you this right now, Jones did not punch very hard... He kneed hard, he kicked hard, he elbowed hard. He did a lot of things very well but in terms of punching ability, he didn't have like jarring power. Now, gaining 30 pounds, maybe he gets a little bit of a heavier puncher but he'll never match Cyril Gane in terms of puching power. He's gonna need his skills in order to do this. Here's the issue - Ciryl Gane possesses a lot of those same skills. He can stand on the outside and fight... and he does possess jarring power when he does land."

In his breakdown, Cormier added that Jones would not enjoy the size advantage as he used to during his time as a light heavyweight.

Cormier has shared the octagon with Jones on two separate occasions. Their first fight took place at UFC 182 and Jones got his hand raised via unanimous decision.

Their second encounter went down at UFC 214. 'Bones' scored a knockout victory that night but the result was later overturned to a 'no-contest' as Jones tested positive for banned substances.

Daniel Cormier will be part of the commentary team for Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane

Daniel Cormier, Jon Anik and Joe Rogan will constitute the commentary for UFC 285, which will be headlined by Ciryl Gane and Cormier's former rival, Jon Jones.

Jones vs. Cormier was one of the ugliest rivalries in UFC history as both fighters hurled personal insults at each other over the years. 'Bones' recently decided to bury the hatchet as he uploaded a tweet saying that he had no qualms with Cormier.

In another post, Jones declared that he had no issues with Cormier on the commentary desk during his fight.

DC you are more than welcome to commentate at my fight, I think you are really good at what you do. I trust that you would be non-biased. All the best brother," Jon Jones.
