"How you beat me when my student take you down!" – Daniel Cormier posts footage of Islam Makhachev being taken down as part of a hilarious feud

It is no secret that Daniel Cormier is very close to Khabib Nurmagomedov and UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. There are plenty of hilarious videos online of the UFC Hall of Famer interacting and joking around with his AKA teammates.

'DC' recently posted a video on his Instagram page that showed his student Chase Saldate wrestling with the Dagestani. During their scramble, Saldate attempted a takedown, while Makhachev crawled to avoid it.

The video ends with the UFC Hall of Famer awarding his student with two points for the takedown. 'DC' made sure the reigning lightweight champion knew who the champion was with a caption that read:

"@islam_makhachev Champ, brother maybe I got a little arrogant against you. Even tho I won the match I overlook you. How you beat me when my student take you down! Watch the camera guys brother I find footage. I pinned @chasesaldate in finals. I am the champion."

Makhachev commented and let the UFC Hall of Famer know that Saldate was no match for him.

"The most famous takedown in history of freestyle wrestling is when I threw Chase, so he's not a challenge for me."

The lightweight champion posted a video on his Instagram account that showed him grappling with 'DC' and taking him down.

"Finally, everyone will find out the truth, whose wrestling is better. I warned you DC. Make sure watch the video guys."

'DC' vs. Makhachev has quickly become an entertaining rivalry between two friends. The hilarious interactions have shown a different side of Nurmagomedov's protege and his illustrious mentor.

Who is Daniel Cormier's student?

Chase Saldate is an NCAA collegiate wrestler at Michigan State University and trains under the tutelage of 'DC' at AKA. During his experience training at AKA, he wrestled with UFC Hall of Famer Khaibib Nurmagomedov and current lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

Prior to joining Michigan State's wrestling team, Saldate was a standout high school wrestler at Gilroy High School, where he was coached by Cormier.

Some of 'Satellite's high school accolades include a state championship, three league championships, Reno Tournament of Champions title, Fargo All-American, and 2019 Super 32 Champion.
