UFC will resort to unfair means to distract fans from Dana White slap controversy: Former UFC fighter

Dana White will certainly have a lot to deal with since being captured on camera while slapping his wife on New Year's Eve. The UFC and its parent company, Endeavor, are yet to comment on the incident and White hasn't faced any sanctions.

Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub believes the promotion will also deploy other means to distract fans from the incident. Schaub was asked to weigh in on the delay in announcing fights like Henry Cejudo vs. Aljamain Sterling and Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman 3, which are all but official.

Schaub believes the UFC is planning to bombard fans with major fight announcements to distract them from White's slap incident. The TUF alum said in an interview with The Schmo:

"I think they are dealing with other problems, right? [sarcastically] So I think making fights in the least of their concerns cause there's an altercation outside the octagon that they are worried about right now. So what they're gonna do is you're gonna see a onslaught of big announcements. I bet you hear Jon Jones-Francis or Jon Jones-Stipe fight in the next week or so. It's gonna overshadow some 'things' going on with the UFC."

While some fans have distatefully defended White, the UFC president himself issued an immediate apology and did not give any excuses.

When Dana White's mother hinted at previous cases of domestic violence involving her son

Dana White's mother June labeled her son a 'vindictive tyrant' in her book Dana White, King of MMA, which was released in 2011. An old interview with June White recently went viral after the UFC president's slap incident.

White's mother has talked about his problematic behavior with women, amidst other things. June White also claimed that her son's infidelity has led to incidents of domestic violence in the past as well:

“I mean, he goes after any girl he wants and usually gets them. His wife is – they’re constantly fighting. The honeymoon, she gave him the worst black eye I’ve ever seen and nearly lost his eye. So I don’t know if that’s his way of handling that, but he’s gone overboard with handling that.”
