Fans recently expressed their thoughts on Jhonata Diniz's victory over Austen Lane at UFC Vegas 91. The event took place at the UFC Apex Center on April 27.

Diniz made his octagon debut against Lane this Saturday in a heavyweight bout. He was coming off a first-round knockout win against Eduardo Neves at Dana White's Contender Series in September last year.

Meanwhile, Lane's UFC debut in June, last year resulted in a no-contest after an unintentional eye poke. At UFC 293, the Florida native was knocked out by Justin Tafa in the first round.

Diniz was in big trouble early on when Lane was able to tackle him to the ground and restrict his striking. However, the former Glory kickboxer did enough to endure Lane's ground-and-pound attack from full mount until the end of the first round.

In the second round, Diniz capitalized on Lane's depleted gas tank. He easily blocked a takedown attempt by Lane and then applied more pressure with his skillful punching. When Lane fired back, it marked the beginning of the end. Diniz pushed past Lane's resistance, smashing his chin with his left hand and then following up with more heavy strikes.

Another big left sent Lane crashing face-first to the ground, causing the referee to call the bout off at 2:12 into the second round.
