Bruna Burns is a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu practitioner. She started training BJJ back in 2003 and holds a third-degree black belt in the discipline. Bruna became the 2011 IBJJF Black Belt No-Gi Brazilian National Champion and the 2012 IBJJF Black Belt Brazilian National Champion.

She is still active in the competitive sphere of Jiu-jitsu and became the 2019 IBJJF Black Belt pan-silver medalist. Bruna Burns also holds a bachelor's degree in Physical training.

Bruna has been working as an instructor at the Academy Combat Cub. She has also been associated with the Barwis Institute, where she is a professor alongside her husband Gilbert Burns, and multiple-time IBJJF world champion Ari Pollan.

The couple dated for a long time and tied the knot on August 10, 2012, and has been happily married ever since.

In 2021, Gilbert Burns got a shot at the UFC welterweight title, riding a six-fight winning streak with wins over Gunnar Nelson, Demian Maia, and Tyron Woodley. However, Burns' title bid was cut short as he was stopped by Kamaru Usman in the third round of the main event at UFC 258.
