Due to his NFL Draft moment, Joe Alt's girlfriend Emilie Meyer was also in the spotlight.

Seated as the camera panned on them, Alt's name was called as the No. 5 pick by the Los Angeles Chargers. Emilie was right beside him and had an awkward expression for the camera.

The couple was at home, celebrating the 2024 NFL Draft with their family with a party of their own. In the short clip shared, Meyer looked confused as the camera panned to her and attempted a smile.

There were a couple of jokes and reactions to the clip, a few wondering if Meyer's was okay.

"She been kidnapped? Can we get a wellness check?" one fan wrote on Twitter.

"That’s the face of someone who realized that his game checks will be taxed at 65% because he’ll be in Cali," another fan joked.

There were multiple jokes about California, adding that they'd be just as surprised if they were moving to California. Furthermore, even Joe Alt looked serious on camera. However, there was a delay in the live broadcast, ultimately causing them to look like they weren't thrilled at that very moment.

The couple attended the same high school together, Totino-Grace.

Joe Alt was the correct pick for the Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers picking Joe Alt was no surprise. The offensive tackle has been in the spotlight for some time, with many NFL teams looking to draft him during the first round. Raving about his pro day, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer said GMs were very impressed:

"I've talked to a couple of evaluators over the last few days who've compared him to Joe Thomas. I talked to one GM who said his pro day was 'the best pro day I've ever seen from an offensive lineman.' One veteran evaluator I talked to had Alt behind only [wideout Marvin Harrison Jr.] among the best players in this draft class."

While the Chargers might need more pieces to bring their team together, one cannot deny the talent Joe Alt brings to the table in LA.
