5 Reasons why Randy Savage is the best choice to Headline 2015 Hall of Fame

Ohh Yeaahhh!Undertaker’s streak came to an end, Sting made his WWE debut and now, Randy Savage is going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. There is a lot of excitement among the WWE Universe after the news broke out and they have all the right to be excited as well.Savage was one of those names in the business who stood toe to toe with Hulk Hogan when it came to fame back in the early 90s and the late 80s. Despite this, he was kept away from the Hall of Fame for a long time sparking a lot of conspiracy theories. All that will be put to bed in a couple of months, and here is a look at why letting him headline this year’s class would be a ‘best for business’ decision.

#5 The mainstream attention

Just like mentioned earlier, the induction of Randy Savage stands alongside moments like the ending of Undertaker’s streak and Sting’s debut. It has been one of the most anticipated moments in recent history and in turn makes it a definite crowd puller.

Over the years, the company has gathered a lot of bad press due to their ignorance of Randy Savage and breaking that pattern is sure to grab the headlines on any day.

WWE used the launch of Network to get some attention for the WrestleMania season back in 2014, and this year, they will have this induction of Savage to get the media buzzing. Considering their poor run on the creative side, the induction would be a blessing.

#4 Hogan burying his regret

Savage had a lot of rivals throughout his career but Hulk Hogan stands out from the crowd for various reasons. These two were known as the Mega Powers back then alongside Miss Elizabeth and gave some excellent matches as a team.

Their break up was eventually a big headline maker and this resulted in the singles feud between the two. Apart from the on screen relationship, Hogan had a very close relationship with Randy off screen as well even though it wasn’t always pretty.

At the end of the day, Hogan did bury the hatchet with Savage which makes him a great choice to induct the Macho Man into Hall of fame. Also, the decision to let two of the greatest names from 90s leading this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony is an apt one.

#3 Gives the Undertaker some time

If Randy Savage is not going to headline this year’s Hall of Fame class, then the next obvious choice is The Undertaker. His streak came to an end at last year’s WrestleMania which made him an automatic choice to headline the Hall of Fame class in 2015.

WWE didn’t have much of a choice apart from Taker but now that they’ve found someone credible in Randy Savage, Taker could get a year off and think about where he wants to take his career.

He could either hang up his boots or come back for another match. Either way, the Phenom could come back and headline next year’s Hall of Fame rather than take a decision in the limited time that he has.

#2 The death of a black list

Savage has been part of the infamous blacklist which kept him away from Hall of Fame for so long. The alleged relationship that he had with Stephanie McMahon could have been the reason but that will be put to bed this year.

Vince McMahon got a lot of criticism for not inducting Savage for all these years and it will be another business deal well done for the chairman.

On one side, the company will prove that nothing went down between Savage and Stephanie while on other side fans will be buzzing in total confusion which will in turn get WWE a lot of attention before WrestleMania.

#1 And above all, he deserves it

There might be a lot of superstars out there who are yet to make it to the Hall of Fame but many does not deserve it as much as Randy Savage. He was one of the pillars for WWE back in late 80s before jumping ship to WCW.

He had a great time in the Turner productions as well where he stamped his place as one of the greats in the business. The career went downhill from thereon but Savage still left a lasting legacy as a cult figure.

He deserved to be inducted alongside names like Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat and Andre the Giant but WWE was for some reason keeping him away from the mix. However, at the end of the day, its better late than never.
