Big WWE heel turns we want to see in 2016

So who’s who here?Faces and heels are what make or break a storyline. We all love it when the villainous heels lose to the heroic face, given their story was told convincingly. Take Daniel Bryan’s WrestleMania story for example, it was presented the best way possible and had all of us intrigued.Another example can be of John Cena winning the WWE championship against John Bradshaw Layfield at Wrestlemania, John was over as hell, JBL was the villainous heel and we all saw the rise of the man who is still the face of the company. There are tweeners in the mix and they add fun in their own way of picking up a fight with anyone regardless of them being a face or heel. But, yet again the true fun is in watching a great rivalry between a monster heel and a lovable face. The number of credible heels on the main roster is not very good at present. When Rollins was around it seemed there wasn’t anyone else needed for a long time. Now that he is out with injury and it is speculated that he will return as a face, it further reduces the number of heels on the roster. There are a number of guys that WWE can turn heel and they all can present themselves as great heel acts. Here are the cream of the crop

#5 Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is one of those guys who can play his roles to perfection at such length that you start believing that the person he is portraying himself as is what he actually is. The guy is a lovable character as a face with a lot of exciting catch phrases and amazing wrestling skill.

He can be a funny heel like he was in WCW, remember “ARMBAR”? And, he can be a solid heel like he was in 2008 where he had an incredible feud with Shawn Michaels. He continued his run as a heel after his comeback and then putting on a really underrated feud with CM Punk in 2012.

It is a known fact that he isn’t available all the time, with his commitments to his band and other stuff he has to deal with. But, WWE can actually use the time he is around to the fullest and be a great main event heel.

#4 Finn Balor

Finn Balor is yet to debut on the main roster and the current NXT champion is one of the most over talents there. Ever since his debut in May 2014, he has been a face. But, with the news of Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows coming to NXT and WWE supposedly going forward with the Balor Club idea, it is believed that the group will be a heel faction and if that happens and Finn and his group appears on Raw, it will be a whole lot of fun.

Ever since the end of the SHIELD, there has not been a faction that can change the complexion of the WWE. So, a heel Balor Club is the very thing we need. Even if Finn debuts as a singles competitor it would not be a bad idea to make him go forward as a heel and make him compete against maybe a face Wyatt by that time. Both of them have a dark gimmick and it would be an interesting feud to watch, to say the least.

#3 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose is arguably the most over babyface on the current roster. He can talk and is a pretty decent wrestler. But, before being this fan favourite guy, he was working as a hated heel in the NXT.

People who follow independent wrestling know him as Jon Moxley and are waiting to see that persona of his in WWE. Ambrose can be a ruthless bad guy, who can make people hate him and Seth returning (possibly as a face) and facing a heel Ambrose is what we all want to see.

Right from his days in the Shield we all believed him to be the guy who will cause the end and in turn be the heel and not Seth. So, that one storyline of him and Seth having a reversed role this time will be something to look forward to.

The story for him to turn is there, he has taken beatings for Roman for a long time and now with Roman most probably winning the title at Mania, there is perfect reason for him to snap.

#2 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is someone who isn’t very well received as of late by the WWE universe. The reason everyone gives is that he is being forced down our throats. It isn’t a secret that he is not at all good on the microphone and his wrestling skills are not that impressive either.

Maybe a change in the character is what he needs. WWE is known to use ideas from the past. They can use the same thing they did with The Rock, he wasn’t a very likable character in the beginning of his career, they turned him heel and he got so over with the fans that the creative team was forced to turn him back face.

Since the company is so very fixed on Reigns being the next top guy, why not turn him heel for the moment, get the fans behind him if that’s what it takes and then do the same thing they did with his cousin. Roman has the looks to be a monster heel, he can be that badass character they need since Brock won’t be around all the time. So, why not make Roman look like that?

#1 John Cena

Let’s face it, we all want this to happen. As much as the chances of it happening is as small as Sin Cara headlining WrestleMania, we can all at least dream, can’t we? There were plenty of opportunities in the past decade to turn him heel yet, the idea was rejected faster than it was pitched.

The John Cena we all know today isn’t the John Cena we all used to love back in his D.Thug days. With the content today being PG it is hard to bring that Cena back to WWE. But, what the creative team can do is turn him heel and let him be the leader of a faction like a modern day N.W.O.

Now this can be helpful to the other members in his team as well. Maybe, Dolph and Cesaro (upon his return) be in his team or maybe Neville or some other person who is going nowhere in the company.

This can do wonders for John as he can speak his mind up in this gimmick and not be the cheesy guy on the microphone that he has been for the past decade. The best part of him turning is that they won’t need anyone else in the main event picture as a heel.

Any of this happening can turn the whole main event scenario upside down. The lack of main event heels is what causing the authority storyline to stretch for this long. Any of these men becoming the top heel can make a whole lot of difference.
