Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 18 May, 2014

Like always the Internet Wrestling community and the WWE Universe was high on certain rumors this week amidst all the lows that the company was going through.WWE saw their biggest babyface being taken out of action for some time which reflected in their shares plummeting to unwanted depths. A sense of total confusion is lurking around the backstage without any doubt while the fans have been busy discussing where the product is going. This week there were rumors about the status of Daniel Bryan, matches at Payback and certain new additions to the roster. So here is a look at the most important ones from the week and how they could impact the current paradigm.

#5 Damien Sandow and Alicia Fox joining hands

Damien Sandow saw his microphone being cut out twice last week which reminded the fans of how CM Punk had the same issues during his famous promo.

Though Sandow’s wasn’t as inflammable as the one Punk pulled off, it certainly had sparks here and there of his real life frustrations. At the same night we saw Alicia Fox getting frustrated of not getting a push.

And even though they seemed like isolated incidents, there are rumours suggesting than WWE are planning to associate the two in the near future. The exciting prospect from this will be it expanding beyond Fox and Sandow to form a stable.

A new direction is certainly something which excites everyone and hopefully Sandow will get some time to show off what he can do.

#4 United States - Intercontinental title unification

This was an idea which was pitted up right before WrestleMania when Dean Ambrose and Big E were champion. Things are looking a lot better for the titles since Sheamus and Bad News Barrett won them but apparently WWE hasn’t dropped the idea of unifying them.

The European tour that is going down at the moment is likely to the ignition for the unification as well. Since Sheamus and Barrett are yet to have a challenger for their title, the rumors pretty much is stronger than expected.

If the company is really planning to take Sheamus into Evolution, this seems to be the most appropriate choice as well so that the unified title would end up with Barrett.

#3 The Rock, Mickie James and Rikishi favorites for 2015 Hall of Fame

There have been a lot of rumors about The Rock being the highlight of next year’s Hall of Fame class and this week he was joined by Rikishi and Mickie James.

Mickie, after her stint with TNA, has been appearing backstage here and there for WWE while Rikishi even returned for the Old School edition of Raw to brush up the memories. Rock and Rikishi being inducted alongside eachother will be a big moment for the Samoan Family too.

And now that Trish Stratus and Lita are already in the Hall Of Fame, Mickie most likely is the next automatic choice. However, there are a lot of divas other than her who could get the nod ahead which is the only problem that Mickie is facing now if the rumours are right.

#2 Arrival of Prince Devitt and Kenta

The rumors regarding Prince Devitt were something which turned out to be real as the week went by while Kenta still hasnt confirmed anything about his potential move to WWE.

Both Devitt and Kenta are two of the well-known names in Japan and the Internet Community are more than excited to see them being linked with WWE. Devitt according to the rumors is likely to join NXT in the month of August, but it will be interesting how long he takes to get to the main roster.

Kenta on the other hand will also be a great addition to the roster. Hes had some epic encounters with Daniel Bryan at the Indy scene as well. But the biggest question that will be there about both the superstars if they arrive will be in what capacity WWE will use them.

They are clearly excellent performers inside the ring but the gimmicks WWE gives them will decide the real effect of Kenta and Prince Devitt.

#1 Shield-Evolution match going to be six man elimination match

WWE made the rematch between Shield and Evolution official for Payback but one thing that they didn’t acknowledge was the stipulations.

Triple H was going on to say about how Roman Reigns would suffer at Payback but was knocked out before he could complete. Well the latest rumors are that the match between the two factions will be an elimination match.

According to WWE, this will be their chance to stamp the place of Reigns once again on the top and him beating the odds to win the match for his team might be the scene we are headed for.

It would however be a bit unfair to Rollins and Dean Ambrose who will literally be buried if they gets eliminated first to pile up the numbers against Reigns. There is space for another stipulation as well and there might be changes for the current set up since there is significant amount of time left for Payback.
