WWE WrestleMania 32: 5 Records that could be broken at the pay-per-view

A new attendance record??

Shane McMahon’s record could be shattered by the UndertakerWrestleMania 32 will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with Triple H battling Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.Triple H would be making his 20th appearance at ‘Mania needing a win to make his record an even keel at 10-10. The Undertaker will extend his ‘Mania run to 24 when he battles Shane McMahon inside Hell in a Cell and it is sure that a number of celebrities will make their customary attendance at the event as well.We could also see guys like Shawn Michaels and nWo, all close to Triple H making appearances too. This list takes a look at the five records that might be broken at WrestleMania 32.

#1 A new attendance record

A new attendance record??

Wrestling Observer noted that the Dallas Cowboys’ Stadium has seen about 84,000 of tickets sold for WrestleMania 32 – which is greater than the 79,000 at the Wembley Stadium that has stood as the WWE attendance record since 1992.

WWE’s claim that their attendance record is the 93,000 people that turned up for WrestleMania 3 has been widely questioned, with the actual attendance being put at 78,000.

If the Wrestling Observer claims is indeed true, then WM 32 will break Wembley’s 24-year-old record, which might also help in reducing the fears of people losing interest in the product in the wake of low television ratings over the year.

#2 Will Bray Wyatt and the rest break their WrestleMania noughts

Can Wyatt win??

WrestleMania might be the pinnacle of the WWE, but if you rate superstars on their win/loss record at the event, there are a number of surprising entries right at the bottom of the list.

Case in point, WWE veteran Goldust. The son of the son of a plumber has been in 6 WrestleMania bouts and lost all six matches. Considering appearances in the preshow, he has been at a further 3 events, but has failed to register a single victory.

His new tag team partner in the making, R-Truth has also been equally disastrous at the PPV, going into the event with a 0-5 record.

The most surprising statistic might be that of one of the highly pushed guys currently on the roster – Bray Wyatt. Wyatt is also 0 for at WrestleMania having lost his matches against John Cena and The Undertaker.

#3 A Divas title change at WrestleMania

Will a new Divas champ be crowned?

The Divas/Women’s title hasn’t changed at WrestleMania since Mickie James defeated Trish Stratus for the title at WrestleMania 22. Since then, many of the Manias haven't had a Divas title on their cards and even when they did, the champion has retained.

The last time the Divas title was on the line was at WrestleMania 30 when the champion AJ Lee retained against a number of Divas in the Vickie Guerrero invitational.

This year’s event sees a Triple threat match for the Divas title, with Charlotte defending her title against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. With all the recent buzz around Sasha, we might just see a new Divas champ getting crowned this time around.

#4 Will an unbeaten streak end?

Can Shane McMahon remain unbeaten at WM?

It is rare to see the Undertaker wrestle a match at WrestleMania against a person with an unbeaten record at ‘Mania. But that is exactly what is going to happen when Taker meets Shane McMahon at WM 32.

Shane has wrestled only twice at WrestleMania, beating X-Pac to win the European title at WM XV and then beating Vince McMahon in a streetfight two years later. He has been in other WrestleManias in supporting roles, including WrestleMania 22 and 23, but wasn’t officially in a match.

With Shane’s current run with the WWE rumoured to be just an on-air role, it is highly possible that his streak would end this year.

#5 Will all the titles be defended on the event?

The feud that carried over from NXT!!

Recent trends at ‘Mania include pushing off a title match to the preshow or not to have a champion defend at all. Even with the WWE reducing the number of active titles on the roster, last year’s Mania had Divas champ Nikki Bella not defending her title on the show.

Considering the times when as much as nine titles were active in the WWE, the company can be excused for not defending all the titles at ‘Mania over the years.

But it might be different this year. The WWE and Divas title are already on the line at ‘Mania and considering the storylines currently running, it seems inevitable that it would be Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn for the IC title and Kalisto vs Ryback for the US title. The New Day could defend their tag titles against a host of tag teams as well.

So could this year be the year where all the titles are on the line? Wait and watch!!!
