7 big names who are also good people outside the ring

An ideal citizen

Rock has a foundation set up for childrenThe professional wrestling business has undergone some big changes. One among the list is the dual identity of professional wrestlers. Back in the days, we used to hear some ridiculous tales about wrestlers refusing to break character. For instance, Sandman once stayed inside his house to sell an injury that Tommy Dreamer inflicted him during an ECW show. Such wrestlers were keeping kayfabe alive but thanks to the boom of internet and social media, the situation has changed. Most wrestlers currently have a dual identity, one inside the squared circle and one outside it. In addition, unlike the good old days, most fans know about a wrestler’s life outside the business. This list is going to look at some of those superstars who managed to create a good image with their real-life heroics.

#7 Kane

An ideal citizen

Kane does not have many black marks in his resume. While most superstars in the current WWE roster tangled in one form of controversy or the other, Kane has managed to stay clean for a long time.

Playing a monstrous character in the kayfabe world has not limited Kane from extending his hand to the needy. He is a great role model for the upcoming superstars and Kane promotes the message of integrity and respect whenever he gets time.

The top donor for East Tennessee Children Hospital, Kane also has some clear-cut political views, which he publishes via his blog. He sponsors the annual food drive in Tennessee as well.

#6 Diamond Dallas Page

Commited to helping others

The wrestling fans are well aware of the heroics of Diamond Dallas Page. After wrapping up his wrestling career, DDP went on to establish himself as a fitness guru. However, DDP turned successful when he started helping war veterans and suffering friends.

DDP helped legendary wrestler Jake Roberts to overcome the claws of addiction and did the same with Scott Hall. DDP is still working tirelessly towards his aim of changing these lives.

Some might feel confused by his inclusion in the list as he is not an active superstar but none can argue about how much he deserves to be here.

#5 Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

Some people leave a lasting mark in our life

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon set up the ‘Connors Cure’, which is a charity for brain and spinal research. The decision to set up the foundation came after the eight-year-old Connor Michalek touched the hearts of Hunter and Stephanie.

Connor passed away due to terminal illness and the couple decided to dedicate a charity foundation for the young boy. The foundation also helps for the treatment of children with terminal illness.

Apart from Connors cure, Triple H and Stephanie played crucial roles in the anti-bullying campaigns that WWE runs these days. We could expect greater things from the duo once they take over the company completely.

#4 The Undertaker

The man who sold his favorite motorcycle

The Undertaker is one of the most respected superstars in the business. Taker is not someone who likes to break kayfabe and this has kept his personal life private for most of the time. However, this has not stopped Taker from showing his soft side.

A few years back, Taker raised money for American Mighty Warriors Veterans Support Group by selling his favourite motorcycle. In addition, Taker has set up his own cause named ‘Zeus Compton Calaway Save the Animals Fund’.

For someone who plays a scary gimmick in the wrestling world, such acts of kindness in real life certainly make him stand out from the rest.

#3 Dwayne The Rock Johnson

Giving back to the community

Dwayne Johnson struggled his way to the top. He went through some horrible phases in his life and eventually won the fight. And once he reached the top, Johnson started giving back to the community.

After a solid association with the Make A wish foundation, Dwayne set up his own charity foundation named Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation. It aims to help the children with special needs and provides money for their recovery process.

The foundation turned out to be a huge success, and soon, Dwayne expanded it to help children who struggle with obesity and lack of proper education. Rock is a humble person outside the ring and is widely respected inside the business as well.

#2 Vince McMahon

Setting the example for his employees

Vince McMahon plays a bad person in the kayfabe world, but in real life, it is a different story. The wrestling fans on the internet might have a different opinion, but overlooking the things Vince did is unfair.

Vince donated nearly 10 million dollars to various universities and military schools and was instrumental in WWE’s tie-ups with major charity organizations. Helping former superstars also falls under the good deeds of Vince.

If this was not enough, he once became the top donor for the Donald J. Trump Foundation. At an age of 70, Vince is showing no signs of slowing down and his resume will indeed grow further before he decides to retire.

#1 John Cena

Have a wish? Cena will grant it

The inclusion of John Cena in this list is a no brainer. As the face of WWE, Cena has been a hero for children all around the world. An ambassador for the Make-A-Wish foundation, Cena holds the record of granting the most number of wishes.

Apart from this, he helped the foundation to expand with some timely cooperation with Basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Cena does all these and donates millions while working almost 300 days per year. Yet, he is one of the most polarizing superstars in WWE. Hate him or love him, you got to respect Cena for his efforts, both outside and inside the ring.
