WWE Monday Night Raw: 3 November 2014 - Top 5 moments of the week

The November 3rd edition of Monday Night Raw was one of those rare shows which was worth the 9.99 price tag that WWE have been hanging around their messed up Network.Maybe the reason why WWE stepped up their game without any competition pressure is because of the failure of the Network and if that is really the case, then fans are sure to be treated more in the coming weeks.A perfect mixture of filler, well worked action and some high drama ensured the best possible outing for the WWE creative team. All these gave some memorable moments throughout the night and since the night was too good to be forgotten in a matter of hours, here are a pick of the best moments from this weeks Raw.

#5 Dark day for America

This one technically didn’t happen on Raw but it would be unfair to leave this one out of the list. Rusev’s character had reached a limit of upper midcard jobbers when he defeated Big Show at Hell in a Cell and WWE took things to a whole new level this week.

Rusev ended up winning the United States Championship from Sheamus in the first ever post show title change that WWE has seen. Keeping it sweet and simple, Rusev made history on Monday Night.

All the Anti – American promos that Lana pulled off guaranteed heat for Rusev. Now with the United States title that same heat is going to double up.

It’s a bright road ahead for the Bulgarian Brute after this week and Lana might deliver the best promos of her career in the coming weeks.

#4 Authority out to bribe

After the new stipulation was added to the Survivor Series traditional match between Team Cena and Team Authority, there was a certain sense of desperation from Hunter and Stephanie since they wanted to remain in power.

And this is the same desperation that made them go behind Dolph Ziggler. Hunter came out to the ring and used the real life frustration of WWE fans to deliver a great segment with the Intercontinental champion.

He tried to bribe Ziggler away from the Survivor Series main event but Ziggler being a typical babyface stayed rooted to his stand.

This angle would turn out to be a great subplot at the pay-per-view ahead and Ziggler would look more relevant as well.

#3 Slap Mode: on

The best part about the Bellas feud happened at Hell in a Cell where Nikki Bella won against Brie. Brie in turn had to be the personal assistant of Nikki for a whole month.

From the past, we’ve seen how successful the personal assistant angles could turn out to be and this also had the same potential. And glimpses of this potential were finally there to be seen on this week’s Raw.

After winning her match against Emma, Nikki ordered Brie to slap AJ Lee who was in commentary during that time.

Brie had to follow the orders Nikki even though she didn’t like it and this is the type of segment that the fans would expect from the Bellas from now onwards.

#2 Blood, curb stomp and Steel

This week’s Main event was nothing short of chaos but it was a brilliantly choreographed chaos. First of all, Rollins and Orton went out to have a pay-per-view quality match which was then followed by a truce attempt by the Authority.

Once that attempt crash landed into the ground, the high adreline drama followed. Orton was throwing out every one from the Authority and getting his hands over Triple H was the breaking point.

Hunter ordered to finish off Orton which Rollins delivered without much hesitation. Rollins went on to deliver two vicious curb stomps to the predator and all of a sudden, the PG era fans were getting their taste of some warm blood.

And this would go down in the history as the day where the apex predator turned prey for the Architect.

#1 The Real Boss returns

One of the big reasons why this week’s Raw turned into a success was the way in which the show kicked off. The fans were hit hard by Vince McMahon’s surprise return and even though the boss didn’t spend much time under the spotlight, he did make a big impact.

Mentioning the WWE Network didn’t sit well with the fans but the stipulation that was added to Survivor Series made all the headlines.

It has made the match more exciting now as there are a lot of questions arising at every corner. The biggest among that would be, “If Authority loses their power? Then who?”.

McMahon’s big twist was what everyone needed and if the real boss decides to stick around for a regular basis, it would be even better.
