WWE RAW 29th February 2016 - 5 Promising developments

Ryback looks more motivated than ever before

A placeholder The Road to Wrestlemania got a tremendous boost with Shane McMahon making one of the most shocking returns in a while. Undertaker made an appearance this week and though his role isn’t more than being Vince McMahon’s guy, the chairman of the board had a lot to get off his chest about what he wants his son to go through. There was also a number one contenders match for the Divas Title and the ever so endearing Dean Ambrose making an appearance, standing up for his friend in stepping up to the Authority’s Triple H.Here are the 5 promising developments from this week’s Raw -

#5 New Ryback?

Ryback looks more motivated than ever before

This may or may not have big repercussions given what history tells us with all the pushes that the Ryback character has received. But with his new avatar and reverting to being the big bad guy who beats up smaller guys, Ryback somehow seemed refreshing when he won against Adam Rose and actually left straightaway without waiting in the ring for all the referee formalities to take place. There is a certain attitude that can be banked upon.

#4 Kevin Owens

Owens is making a feud with Big Show look fun

Guess we now know who Kevin Owens stands to face at Wrestlemania. He had another face off with the Big Show and he actually lost via count out. Kevin Owens actually treats Show as a giant and believe it or not this program sure looks promising given how entertaining Owens is and how fresh this match up is.

The biggest takeaway from this match and this development is not the fact that things are interesting again with Show but how Owens’ involvement is enriching such a program.

#3 Lynch Vs Banks

The referee makes the count, but both Divas' shoulders are on the mat.
Lynch and Banks had a draw

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks have both been favorites to go to WrestleMania and face Charlotte for the title. So when Charlotte announced that they’ll face each other this week on Raw for that honour, it seemed quite interesting how WWE will go about it since in popular opinion it is expected to be a triple threat.

And so, these two had a really good match. It went back and forth until we got a double pin to end the match. We had a draw in front of us and now they face each other on SmackDown. It’s certainly worth the watch.

#2 Mean Dean

Ambrose says
The endearing anti-hero

WWE has written Dean Ambrose so, so well this whole time. He’s the guy who believes in all his living, breathing being that he can beat the Beast and tonight he came out to interrupt The Game and tell him that he’ll certainly beat Triple H for the title.

The audience was eating it all up. So after being mauled by the League of Nations in the main event, Triple H and Ambrose had quite an exchange, the audience leapt at the very sight of a Dean Ambrose fightback. He doesn’t have the best win-loss record, he doesn’t even have the odds but everyone still believes.

He got his title opportunity and we’re going to get this match in Toronto.

#1 That promo

Bow down to the Queen

Stephanie McMahon in all her splendid heel glory gave us the best promo of the year so far. This is why she is the best heel on the roster, this is why she is one of the greatest heels of all time and this is why she makes any McMahon drama seem all the more entertaining. She accepted the award that her brother gate crashed last week and went on to not only bad mouth him but everybody in the arena.

She wanted everyone to bow down to her. And after that promo, pretty sure many did.
