WWE RAW August 25, 2014: 5 Promising Developments

It wasn’t the best of raw and it wasn’t the worst either. Some storylines were played out well, some well written material wasn’t incorporated with good performances and some things suffered because the writing was just plain bad. John Cena started and ended the night. Lesnar made his presence felt without even being in the arena and Reigns and Rollins finally had an effective showdown for the first time after the infamous betrayal. Here are the 5 promising developments from this week

#1 Ambrose- Rollins feud is a blockbuster

The advantage this rivalry has than any other rivalry right now is the storyline. The Shield, the betrayal, the performances by these two, especially Ambrose. This week Rollins had the stage all for himself. Ambrose is missing in action and nowhere to be found. Rollins took the opportunity to showcase why he is one of the best heels right now.

His character development is refreshing considering Ambrose has been phenomenal in the acting department. This only escalates the already exciting feud between these two. This feud will stand the test of time.

#2 Cena\'s performance

One of the best parts of this summer has been the writing for the Cena-Lesnar feud. Cena has turned in great performances ever since his feud with the Beast Incarnate kicked off. The opening of Raw saw a very tame performance by three Hall of Famers but Cena still managed to be a diamond in the rough.

In the main event Cena dominated Wyatt the way Lesnar had dominated the Cenation leader. The only dent in this move was Wyatt’s momentum. Wyatt is really getting lost in the shuffle.

#3 The Omnipresence of Lesnar

The WWE production team is the most reliable source to make anything average turn into a masterpiece. They did a splendid video featuring Lesnar and the ever enchanting paul Heyman. This presentation certainly helps to cover up the loopholes Lesnar’s limited schedule puts. This is way better than Rock’s appearances via Staellite. WAY, WAY BETTER

#4 New Contenders?

Stardust and Goldust finally faced off against the tag team champions and it looks like they’re going to be the next contenders for the titles. And that will be a refreshing move. Cody Rhodes has been phenomenal in his new gimmick. He has performed every gimmick he’s ever had pretty well. And Goldust is just ageless in the ring.It looks like the brothers have another championship reign within their sights.

#5 The Intercontinental Title feud

When Cesaro faced Van Dam for the number one contenders match for the U.S. Title, I had to think for a few seconds who the champion was. If Sheamus can’t bring much spotlight to the title, who can?

Well, the IC title is in much better hands as Miz and Ziggler are just two well known faces. One is a top face and the other a top heel.

Damien Sandow as always gave a very dedicated performance as being a different person every other week.
