Top 5: Superstars who have beaten Bray Wyatt

John Cena ended Wyatt’s unbeaten streak at Wrestlemania 30

Bray Wyatt heads into Night of Champions looking for yet another PPV winBray Wyatt heads into Night of Champions tonight with another battle against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. While the Wyatt family has become stronger than ever, the intrigue of the mystery partner angle gives the edge to Reigns and Ambrose. However, with the WWE Creative solely behind him, it will be foolish to ignore Bray’s chances. In fact, since debuting in WWE in 2012 under the ‘Eater of the Woods’ persona, Bray has lost to only five wrestlers in singles competition. It is another matter altogether that he has not won a single title during that run!The man who debuted in the WWE as the Nexus member Husky Harris and is the real life brother of Bo Dallas is a surely a future WWE World Heavyweight Champion. But it seems high time he got in the thick of things as far as the championship is concerned. So who are the quintet who had Bray’s number? Read on..........

#1 John Cena

John Cena ended Wyatt’s unbeaten streak at Wrestlemania 30

Just like all the other dominant newcomers who made an impact in the WWE with unbeaten streaks, Wyatt too found his first loss at the hands of ‘Mr. Hustle, Loyalty and Respect’ – John Cena. The two foes had their first match at Wrestlemania 30 where Cena would pin Bray after countering a Sister Abigail into the AA.

Cena would also take care of Wyatt’s cronies – Luke Harper and Eric Rowan during the course of the match in what was billed as the standard Cena vs evil match(sigh!!)

Wyatt would bounce back from that defeat with a customary return win at Extreme rules in a steel cage match. As usual, Cena would end the feud victorious after burying Wyatt under multiple equipments in a Last man standing match at Payback.

Cena would once again get the better of Wyatt at Money in the Bank for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight title in an eight man ladder match.

#2 Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho beat Wyatt at Battleground

This entry might surprise some – After all, throughout his brief runs in the WWE during the past couple of years, all Chris Jericho has been doing is putting over young talent.

Y2J has lost to Dolph Ziggler, Fandango and Ryback during the time and when the Wyatt family attacked Jericho during his return to the WWE and a match was set up with Bray for Battleground, the outcome seemed fairly obvious – A hard-fought loss against the newcomer.

However, the WWE fans were stunned into a welcome surprise when Jericho pulled off an upset victory over Wyatt in the PPV with a Codebreaker out of nowhere. The entire Wyatt family at ringside was not able to prevent this defeat for Wyatt and it would be his third straight PPV loss.

Loyal to the business as he is, Jericho would happily put over Wyatt in their remaining encounters, raising Wyatt’s profile further.

#3 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose has knocked off Wyatt twice

Dean Ambrose is one WWE superstar who just doesn’t get his due. Regardless of his edgy persona, fantastic crowd support and his ability to make any rivalry exciting, the WWE Creative seems hell bent on making him go the way of John Morrison and Carlito.

Nothing would change when Wyatt set his eyes on Ambrose from the Hell in a Cell PPV. Ambrose had been booked poorly ever since the split of the Shield – losing to Seth Rollins in three straight PPVs. Wyatt would add four more defeats in Ambrose’s resume by January 2015.

But in between those losses, Ambrose would gain a solo victory over Wyatt at Tribute of Troops in a Boot Camp match. The Lunatic Fringe’s stock would eventually rise during an entertaining WWE World Heavyweight Championship angle with Rollins and in the midst of it, Ambrose would decisively beat Wyatt on the May 21 episode of SmackDown – SmackDown!

Given that WWE Creative has since made Ambrose return to playing second fiddle to Roman Reigns, it doesn’t seem like he would be getting further chances to own another victory over Wyatt anytime soon – What a waste!!!

#4 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has beaten Wyatt as well

It has been a frustrating year for Roman Reigns – Originally set to beat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania, the collective anger towards Daniel Bryan being treated as an afterthought in the Royal Rumble eventually focussed the unfortunate Reigns. This led to him leaving Wrestlemania looking like a fool and his popularity has not risen back to his Shield days.

Vince McMahon apparently wanted Reigns to talk more, but he does not look natural in the extrovert persona that is being pushed on him. It was his work as the quiet but never mute enforcer that endeared him to the WWE Universe in the first place.

But as long as the WWE Creative is behind him, Reigns is sure to be booked strongly and on the June 1 edition of Raw, Reigns pinned Wyatt with a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match on the line. Wyatt would get his revenge on the PPV itself where he would prevent Reigns from winning the match and would later beat him at Battleground as well.

Wit the angle still going on, expect another victroy for Reigns over Wyatt in the near future.

#5 The Undertaker

The Undertaker beat Wyatt at Wrestlemania 31

The only person in this list who is undefeated against Bray Wyatt is the Phenom. They had a solitary bout at Wrestlemania 31 where the Deadman would deliver a devastating Tombstone Piledriver to Wyatt to take his Wrestlemania record to 22-1.

The match was largely praised by critics and a spot in the match where Bray would do his signature Spider pose only to shrink in fear as the Undertaker would proceed to sit up in the middle of the ring and stare a hole at the young pretender was one of the most memorable events of the night.

With the Undertaker’s wrestling career winding down, there seem to be no plans of a rematch in the horizon and if that is indeed the case, the Deadman will probably become the only WWE Superstar that Bray was unable to put down.
