The Canadian Olympic Swimming Team was finalized after the conclusion of the Canadian Olympic trials on Sunday. The trials were held from May 13 to May 19, 2024, at the Pam Am Sports Centre in Ontario, Canada.

The Canadian Olympic trials featured some incredible races with several records and world leads being created in both the men's and the women's categories. Summer McIntosh, the young Canadian swimmer who ended esteemed swimmer Katie Ledecky's 13-year unbeaten streak in the 800m earlier this year, dominated in multiple events.

McIntosh reaffirmed her incredible swimming prowess on the final day of the trials to secure a spot on the Olympic team for the 200m Individual Medley. Mary-Sophie Harvey and Sydney Pickrem also earned their chance to represent Canada in the 200m IM event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Earlier, McIntosh dominated in the 200m butterfly and broke the world record in the 400m Individual Medley by clocking a time of 4:24.38, earning Olympic spots for the two events as well. The 17-year-old qualified for a total of five events - the 200m butterfly, 200m medley relay, 200m freestyle, 400-metre freestyle, and the 400m individual medley.

"I'm pretty happy to be able to qualify in ... my top five events. Going to Paris, I'm super excited. I think it's going to be an amazing meet, not just for me but all of Team Canada," McIntosh said after her succesful displays.

In the Men's category, Josh Liendo stood out on the final day of the trials and set a new Canadian Record in the Men's 100m butterfly, clocking an impressive 50.06 seconds. Ilya Kharun and Finlay Knox also qualified for the Paris Olympics in the same event.
