10 things to expect from WWE Super Show-Down

It will be night to remember!
It will be a night to remember!

In less than ten days, Super Show-Down will entertain a worldwide audience at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. Ten matches have been penned down for the event, including four major championships.

The “Last Time Ever” match between the Undertaker and Triple H is arguably the most anticipated match on the card. The last time these two legends collided was six and a half year ago at WrestleMania 28.

These two men pushed each other to the limits that night in a Hell in a Cell match as the special guest referee, Shawn Michaels, witnessed the “End of an Era”. Interestingly, Kane is also added to the mix this time as he will be in the corner of his brother to keep an eye on the “Heart Break Kid”.

The Shield saved the day for Roman Reigns by interfering in Braun Strowman’s cash-in on the night after SummerSlam. However, the “Monster Among Men” quickly found allies for himself in the form Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. These men would be looking to tear each other apart in their battle for supremacy.

Here is how things should go down at this star-studded show, which is certainly going to leave a lasting impact on the “Land of Kangaroos”.

#1 Daniel Bryan will become the #1 contender for the WWE Championship

This must happen.
This must happen.

It is about the time when the rivalry between Daniel Bryan and the Miz should come to an end, or take a pause, to say the least. These two have been having a go at each other since the “Leader of the YES movement” requested for the “Awesome One” to be traded to SmackDown Live.

The winner of this match is going to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship. It is difficult to picture the Miz in a championship match against AJ Styles or Samoa Joe. On the other hand, pitting Daniel Bryan against either one of them would be a blockbuster match.

Although the A-lister has gained an upper hand in their confrontations, it is almost certain that Daniel Bryan will be the next in line for the WWE Championship.

#2 The Bar will set the bar, again

Let the belts be blue this time.
Let the belts be blue this time.

New Day won the SmackDown tag team championships on the night after SummerSlam. However, it had a lot to do with Erick Rowan suffering from a torn right bicep, which forced the writers to take the championships from the Bludgeon Brothers.

On the other hand, the Bar hasn’t held the gold since they were traded to the Tuesday Nights, thanks to the Superstar Shake-Up. They will certainly be looking to make it big the next Sunday.

WWE Universe has witnessed the New Day competing against the Usos for more than enough times now. Hence, with the Bar as the new champions, there will be a couple of fresh matches in line for the fans in this division.

#3 The Riott Squad will be defeated

Preparations for Evolution.
Preparations for Evolution.

Similar to the six-man tag team match for the men’s division, the women’s division is also featuring a six-woman tag team match. It will be the team of Ronda Rousey and Bella Twins taking on The Riott Squad.

Although the Bella Twins lost their six-woman tag match against the same faction, they have continued to gain momentum since their return. However, the fans would expect no more botches from Brie Bella. She almost hurt herself by misjudging her suicide dive on their returning night. Last week, Liv Morgan suffered a concussion in the match as Brie accidentally kicked her in the face.

The “Rowdy One” should continue to impress as she should guide her team to victory. Overall, this match will be crucial considering the all women’s PPV, Evolution, is just around the corner.

#4 John Cena and Bobby Lashley will stand tall

The power team will thrive.
The power team will thrive.

It is almost a no-brainer to predict the winner of this tag team match. The build-up to this match has been average, but fans would love to see the sixteen times World champion as he joins his forces with the “Dominator” against two of the best Heels on the WWE roster.

Kevin Owens and Elias have been poorly booked so far this year. The first one was pitted against Braun Strowman for a couple of months in a rather pointless rivalry and the latter one lacked a solid storyline too. The wrestling fans would love these two men in a more grasping storyline in the coming future.

#5 Becky Lynch will retain the Women’s Championship

The reign will continue.
The reign will continue.

Becky Lynch has found new heights of aggression since she has brewed a war against her former-friend Charlotte Flair. Not only she defeated the former Champion at Hell in a Cell last month, but attacked her backstage last week on SmackDown Live.

The rivalry between these two ace women has picked up a lot of intensity in the last couple of weeks. It won’t be an overstatement to say that their match will be the highlight of the night for the women’s division.

Considering the momentum and the fiery attitude with which the Irish Superstar is carrying the championship, she will not only successfully defend the golden belt but will be keeping it wrapped around her waist for a long time.

#6 Hometown Hero will win the Cruiserweight Championship

Will the dream victory come true?
Will the dream victory come true?

Cedric Alexander has been on an “Alexanderic” run since he won the vacant Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania 34. He has defeated the likes of Kalisto, Buddy Murphy, Drew Gulak and Hideo Itami in the last five months to retain the Championship.

However, it will be a hostile crowd for the reigning champion as his challenger will be vociferously supported in his homeland of Melbourne. There is no doubt that the hometown hero will be bringing his A-game to the event. With the tremendous support of the resident crowd, the odds seem to favor him for the match.

#7 Asuka and Naomi will dominate the IIconics

The Empire will Glow.
The Empire will Glow.

Buddy Murphy won’t be the only one who is going to enjoy the support from the Australians. The IIconics won’t be far behind in relishing the similar welcome.

The duo of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce made their debut on SmackDown Live by attacking the then’s Women’s champion, Charlotte Flair. The following week, they defeated the team of Asuka and Becky Lynch to put everyone in the locker room on notice.

These two have executed attacks on Auska and Naomi individually, but it will be a different ball game altogether as they lose their 2-on-1 advantage. Although it’s a close call to predict the winner here, it seems that the “Empress of Tomorrow” and the “Glow” will be victorious against this nefarious team next Sunday.

#8 Samoa Joe will become the WWE Champion

The championship must change hands at the Super Show-Down.
The championship must change hands at the Super Show-Down.

The rivalry between Samoa Joe and AJ Styles has gone far from professional. Last week on SmackDown Live, the Samoan went to the home of the reigning WWE Champion in his absence, which left the Champion helpless in the squared circle.

The challenger has gotten under the skin and inside the head of the “Phenomenal One”. Styles lost their first match at SummerSlam by disqualification as he lost his temper and struck Joe with a chair. He barely retained the gold at the Hell in a Cell as referee missed his submission.

Hence, it is possible that the Champion will be kissing the championship goodbye next Sunday. However, he won’t go down without a fight, and their match will be a treat to the fans across the planet.

#9 The Undertaker vs. Triple H will result in a dead heat

It won't be the last time.
It won't be the last time.

After suffering two losses at WrestleMania, the Undertaker has bounced back in full force. He squashed John Cena in under three minutes at WrestleMania 34 and buried both Rusev and Aiden English inside a casket at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Not to mention, he is looking in his best shape in the recent couple of years.

Both Shawn Michaels and Kane will be guarding the ringside for their respective favorites. It is almost certain that these two will also have a go at each other during the match.

youtube-cover

It is quite possible that the interference will lead to a dead heat, and possibly set the tone for the anticipated match between the Brothers of Destruction and DX at the Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

#10 The brotherhood will dominate

The hounds will prevail.
The hounds will prevail.

Despite the mind games which Dolph Ziggler tried to play with Dean Ambrose, The Shield stood tall as Raw concluded last Monday. The “Hounds of Justice” seems unstoppable as each of them put their faction before them.

Although the team of Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre is strong, they have aligned themselves together only because the situation demanded so. They are, in fact, a separate set of individuals who happen to fight side-by-side as they face their common enemy.

Hence, it shall be the brotherhood which will stand tall as the night concludes at the Melbourne, Australia. There is no doubt that this PPV will be a stepping stone in WWE global tours. Enjoy the show!
