WWE RAW Preview: 22nd October, 2018

Could we finally see the clash of two legitimate monsters?
Could we finally see the clash of two legitimate monsters?

What makes this edition of RAW special is that it's the final episode of RAW before the Evolution pay-per-view. Therefore, expect there to be a lot many women's segments on the show, this week. My job through this article is to just get you all prepped and ready for this week's episode. Let me know whether I've succeeded or not.

RAW comes to us from the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI. It comes on the back of an explosive episode last week, that left us with a real cliffhanger. One wonders how this week's episode will play out, leading from that moment.

Tell me what you're particularly looking forward to, on this show. Bear in mind that this is a critical episode, as it's also going to be building to Crown Jewel.

Here is a little trailer for this week's episode of RAW!

#5 Godzilla vs. King Kong

Could we see Strowman and McIntyre lock horns this week?
Could we see Strowman and McIntyre lock horns this week?

For weeks, WWE had been teasing dissension between the members of The Shield. And then, when push came to shove, the members of The Shield persevered and on the other hand, McIntyre and Strowman came to blows. It is clear that WWE is leading to a match between the two monsters somewhere down the line.

It remains to be seen where Dolph Ziggler fits into the scheme of things. WWE.com makes a special mention of the fact that McIntyre did not help Ziggler back to his feet after Strowman hit him with a running powerslam, but instead, just walked up the ramp staring down with Strowman. This is, by far, the most interesting development from last week.

Expect this week to be a continuation of this particular storyline. Has Braun Strowman finally met his match?

#4 The Ambrose situation

This storyline is still far from over, I think
This storyline is still far from over, I think

And this brings us to the volatile Dean Ambrose. While it did seem like The Shield was back on the same page once again, at the conclusion of last week's episode, all of it could be a ruse for us to forget that Dean Ambrose would walk out on The Shield once again. This has been the most dramatic and I daresay, exciting storyline from RAW in recent months.

You never really know what will trigger Dean Ambrose and set his running off, to reconsider his place in The Shield. Expect this storyline to play out on RAW once again, because WWE has a tendency to repeat storylines that get a lot of social media traction. A chance comment or a move gone astray could send him storming off.

There is a big chance that The Shield breaks up, sooner rather than later, I think. And that's because they do not have quality opponents.

#3 The two powerhouses of the women's division collide!

Tamina vs. Nia Jax could potentially be a very exciting feud
Tamina vs. Nia Jax could potentially be a very exciting feud

When it comes to the strength department, almost nobody in the roster seems to be a real match for Nia Jax, at least in the women's division. Until Tamina returned as a member of the RAW roster, that is.

Last week, she lifted Nax on her shoulders, much to the shock and amazement of the WWE universe. This could really be a very different kind of women's division rivalry.

I, for one, would love to see this particular storyline play out because for the first time in her career, Jax has met her match in the strength department. I see this feud gathering steam as we slowly head into the Evolution pay-per-view and beyond.

Tamina could also potentially be a great opponent for Ronda Rousey, down the line. It all depends on how strongly she is booked, from this RAW onwards.

#2 New feud for Elias

Apollo Crews vs. Elias could be a very interesting feud
Apollo Crews vs. Elias could be a very interesting feud

Unfortunately, it does seem like we've seen the end of Titus Worldwide on the red brand. Dana Brooke is doing her own thing, and at this point, it seems like Apollo Crews has embarked on a singles career on his own. There's no better performer on the roster to feud with, for a spurt in your career, than Elias, in my opinion.

Elias can turn the crowd against him, with an offhand remark, in almost no time at all. Even if the crowd does not particularly care about Apollo at the start, Elias' heel tactics can make him a crowd favourite over the course of the segment. Of course, Crews is no slouch in the ring.

Could Apollo Crews become the superstar he was always destined to be, in the WWE? I genuinely do think that he could.

#1 Hyping the Evolution main event

I'm very curious to see how this segment does play out
I'm very curious to see how this segment does play out

When it was first rumoured that Nikki Bella would tee off with Ronda Rousey at Evolution, a significant part of the WWE Universe groaned in protest, in unison. They were not fond of the fact that a legitimate UFC Hall of Famer would have to take on a superstar who was best known for being a reality TV icon.

Fast forward to last week, and we saw how Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella traded barbs ahead of their match. This got the crowd all hyped up for the eventual contest at Evolution, because of how personal the verbiage seemed to be. The grapevine indicates that Paul Heyman was responsible for scripting the same.

Because this is the main storyline of their upcoming pay-per-view, expect WWE to have yet another ace up their sleeve, for this week's show. I'm certain we haven't seen the end of this much hyped rivalry.

Could we potentially see her take on Brie Bella, this week?
