Rumors are a part and parcel of WWE. How many times have we heard about the prospect of CM Punk being the final entrant (number 30) in the annual Royal Rumble? The Undertaker facing Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam 2019 was another such rumor that caught many fans' attention, but in the final SummerSlam card, neither McIntyre nor The Phenom was present.

How many WWE Superstars who were rumored to get monstrous push were abated to the mid-card or lower? Rumors are always around the corner, so we must only take these with a pinch of salt.

These hoaxes often spread like wildfire. Mostly, WWE does not address them. There are, however, quite a few instances where either WWE or its Superstars do address them, often explicitly on Twitter. There are also instances where they make brilliant responses to the rumours.

In this article, we will take a look at a few brilliant responses made by WWE and WWE Superstars against some of the most recent rumors.

#3. Luke Harper return at Clash of Champions 2019

Rumor: Vince McMahon does not want to use Luke Harper

Less than two days ago, almost every wrestling page reported that Vince McMahon saw no value in Luke Harper and had no plans on using him. Such a rumor made Harper's much-awaited return inside a WWE ring even more special. During Eric Rowan's No DQ match against Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions, Reigns was preparing himself for a spear when he was rudely interrupted by a returning Harper.

Harper helped Rowan to defeat Reigns by hitting The Big Dog with a Discuss Clothesline to return ovation from the fans.

The way WWE handled the latest rumor about Harper was brilliant. They simply returned the "unwanted Superstar" to the ring.

The Firefly Funhouse has been one of the best things in WWE as of late. Bray Wyatt has been in great form and often broke the fourth wall. It has been refreshing to see that Vince McMahon is giving Bray creative control during his segments.

A few days after SummerSlam 2019, there were two major rumors surrounding Bray Wyatt. The first involved him challenging Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman at Hell in a Cell. The second indicated that Bray will attack Stone Cold Steve Austin on RAW.

WWE used the Firefly Funhouse to its great advantage in addressing the first rumor. Wyatt indeed used the Firefly Funhouse to confirm his interest in Rollins and Strowman. Now, after Clash of Champions, Wyatt attacked Seth Rollins, indicating that The Fiend will get his shot at Hell in a Cell.

#1. WWE signs The Undertaker to a lifetime WWE contract

Rumor: The Undertaker retired from WWE (after confirming his appearance at Starrcast II)

The Undertaker signed a lifelong contract with WWE.
The Undertaker signed a lifelong contract with WWE.

There has not been a single more iconic WWE Superstar than The Undertaker. From making his WWE debut at Survivor Series 1990 to his most recent appearance at SmackDown Live, The Undertaker has been a cornerstone in WWE's triumph for over 25 years. So, when The Phenom teased his retirement after Wrestlemania 33, fans could not help but shed a tear.

However, The Deadman was not done. He returned at the WrestleMania next year to defeat John Cena in a squash match. He made more appearances until his loss to DX at Crown Jewel. Since then, we've heard little about The Undertaker.

A rumor then started to do the rounds that The Undertaker's contract was up with WWE and that he would officially retire. Taker's confirmation to appear at Starrcast II, a non-WWE show, added fuel to the fire.

However, WWE responded to this buzz by simply signing The Deadman with a lifetime contract. Since then, The Undertaker competed against Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown and teamed with Roman Reigns to defeat Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules.
