WWE has already announced that it's next draft will be taking place over a two-night event on the October 11th and 14th edition of SmackDown and RAW respectively. To add interest, WWE Superstars will be appearing alongside FOX and NBC Universal personalities, who will be there to announce their select picks from each respective brand.

This will also mark the beginning of a strict brand split and the end of the unpopular 'Wild Card Rule.' The rule severely limited the idea of a true brand split, defeated the purpose of having two distinct brands, and made a mockery of brand rivalries. WWE needed to eliminate the rule and have done so accordingly.

With just two weeks remaining for one of the most high profile WWE drafts in history, the Internet is buzzing with speculation and predictions. To feed into this widespread curiosity, we take a look at three huge things WWE could be planning for the upcoming draft.

#3 Brock Lesnar gets drafted to SmackDown

Expect WWE to push Brock Lesnar as the new face of the Blue Brand

Brock Lesnar made a stunning return two weeks ago on SmackDown Live to lay waste to WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. While WWE went on to announce a blockbuster matchup between the two for SmackDown's debut on FOX, the outcome of this match could give us a fair idea of Brock Lesnar's fate in the upcoming draft.

It is highly speculated that Brock Lesnar could become the new WWE Champion on the October 4th edition of SmackDown and that seems highly likely. 'The Beast Incarnate' has always been the go-to guy for Vince McMahon whenever it comes to ratings and viewership.

Expect WWE to push Lesnar as the face of Friday Night SmackDown and the former Universal Champion seems highly likely to be drafted on the Blue Brand.

#2 WWE swaps Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch

Rumor has it that Becky Lynch could be moving to SmackDown Live in the upcoming draft. Furthermore, 'The Man' is one of the six names FOX reportedly wants on the show. A potential switch to SmackDown looks to be in the cards for the current RAW Women's Champion.

While this would open doors for many mouthwatering feuds for Becky Lynch on the Blue Brand, 'The Man' moving to SmackDown would certainly leave a big void on the RAW roster. WWE could have Charlotte Flair move to RAW to fill that void.

One should expect Lynch to drop her RAW Women's Championship to Sasha Banks on October 6th at Hell in a Cell. WWE could even have Bayley get involved to cost her the title. While this would certainly lay down the breadcrumbs for an epic feud on the Blue Brand, this would also soften the blow of Lynch's loss and keep her strong heading into the draft.

On the other hand, Flair's move to the Red Brand would certainly be a welcome change. It would open doors for a few high profile clashes against the likes of Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, and so on.

#1 Surprising returns

As expected, the upcoming WWE Draft could feature a few surprises. Expect a few top names to make surprising returns for this two-night event.

One such name could be Finn Balor. 'The Demon King' has been on a break ever since his loss at the hands of The Fiend at SummerSlam 2019. Balor's one month hiatus could be ending soon as he is expected to make his return imminently. As a matter of fact, WWE has been advertising him for the upcoming Australian tour set to take place next month. WWE could have Balor make his stunning return on draft night.

Another Superstar that could make a return on draft night is 'The Almighty' Bobby Lashley. Lashley has been off WWE TV for the last two months after undergoing elbow surgery. In what should be considered a major development for the upcoming draft, the former UFC star recently teased a potential return on social media.
