WWE made an ideal start to the new year with an impressive Raw last week. Barring the weird segment featuring Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman, creative got most of the things right on the very first Raw of 2019. However, WWE needs to continue with their good work as they still have a long way to go in this new era.

With Royal Rumble 2019 just around the corner, plus the NXT superstars expected to debut soon, it would be interesting to see what WWE has in store for us this Monday night on Raw.

While WWE has already announced 2 blockbuster matches for the upcoming Raw (Dean Ambrose versus Seth Rollins vs Bobby Lashley in a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship and Ronda Rousey and Sasha Banks vs Tamina and Nia Jax in a tag team match), creative would still have to prove that the last episode was not a flash in the pan and WWE is truly on the right track.

So, without further ado, here are 3 interesting things which could happen on the upcoming episode of Raw.

#3 WWE teases a potential heel turn of Sasha Banks

The Boss Sasha Banks earned herself a title shot against the current Raw Women's champion Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble after defeating Nia Jax last week on Raw.

However, before the mouthwatering clash at the Royal Rumble, the duo will team up this week on Raw to clash with Tamina Snuka and Nia Jax in a tag team match, giving creative a golden opportunity to tease a potential heel turn of The Boss for Royal Rumble.

WWE could have the heels emerge victorious to create differences between the duo, leading to a disgruntled and frustrated Banks laying waste to Rousey in the following weeks leading to the Royal Rumble.

#2 Triple threat match for the Intercontinental Champion turns chaotic

Even though WWE has a talented mid-card, especially on the red brand, there is not any exciting storyline surrounding the Intercontinental Championship as of late. In fact, the recent stint of Dean Ambrose as the Intercontinental Champion has been underwhelming, to say the least.

However, with The Lunatic Fringe schedule to defend his title in a triple threat match on the upcoming episode of Raw, WWE have a golden opportunity to spice things up a bit.

Creative could have Elias Samson and Finn Balor get involved in the match to lay waste to the heels to lay down the breadcrumbs for a potential 5-way match for the title at WrestleMania 35 (if Balor does not get switched to SmackDown Live after Rumble).

This would also make the Intercontinental title relevant again, at least for the time being.

#1 The Deadman returns to insert himself into the Men's Royal Rumble match

2019 could be the last we see of The Deadman inside the WWE ring, and with The Phenom turning 54 this year, plus a few underwhelming performances in his last outings, it looks almost inevitable.

Thus, in order to draw fans for this Rumble season, WWE could have The Undertaker feature during a surprise segment on the upcoming episode of Raw to announce his participation in the 30-man Royal Rumble match.

WWE creative could then also have a chance to go on and tease his WrestleMania 35 opponent at the epic event on January 27.

The last we saw of arguably the greatest WWE gimmick worker in the Rumble match was way back in 2017 where he was eliminated by The Big Dog Roman Reigns. However, we might see WWE add to the star value of this year's event by adding The Phenom into the Rumble match.
