3 potential last opponents for Dean Ambrose in WWE for WrestleMania 35

Dean Ambrose has seen a sharp rise in his career since he along with his two friends and Shield partners, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, made their way from NXT to the main roster.

The trio managed to make a name for themselves in no time and became instant crowd favorites who got top matches on many occasions.

His time on the main roster allowed him to become a Grand Slam Champion, as he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship, Tag Team Championship, and the Intercontinental Title.

This showed that the company believed in him, his talent, his gimmick, and the following he had. However, in the past few months, Ambrose has felt he has been overlooked by the company.

Although fans have seen him recently win the Intercontinental Championship, something many superstars can only dreaming of achieving, Ambrose has decided to exit the company.

While we are not sure whether he is genuinely leaving the company, or the whole story is a work, all we can do is wait and watch.

#3 Aleister Black

Black made his Royal Rumble debut this year

Dean Ambrose entered the Royal Rumble at the #14 spot, and lasted roughly 13 minutes before getting eliminated by one of NXT’s best wrestlers, Aleister Black.

While Black is currently performing on the NXT brand, there is little doubt he will soon get called up to the main roster where he will get a big push. That is something a massive star like Black can use to his advantage, rising to the top.

Ambrose has enjoyed quite a bit of time at the top in the company, and Black is one man who he can pass the torch to.

While there is no reason to take their Royal Rumble story forward, it was interesting to see one of Raw’s biggest stars getting eliminated by one of NXT’s biggest stars.

If Black moves to the main roster before WrestleMania, then WWE should waste no time in igniting a feud between the two men, which could be for a place on Raw, with the loser leaving the brand.

That could be a perfect way to give Black a major push, and also say goodbye to the Lunatic Fringe.

#2 John Cena

Cena and Ambrose have had alliances and feuds in the past

One of the most obvious choices for superstars Dean Ambrose could face at WrestleMania 35 is the man who is always looking for a fight at the grandest stage of them all.

While it seemed as though WWE was building towards a feud between Drew McIntyre and John Cena, plans can change depending on the situation.

Cena has been hungry for WrestleMania matches, and he could find a great competitor in Dean Ambrose, with the two men putting their WWE careers on the line in the match.

This won’t be something new, as the company has gone through with such matches a few times, and could increase interest even though there are confirmed reports of Ambrose leaving the company.

Cena is aging and focusing more on his Hollywood career rather than wrestling, therefore such a match could end up swinging either way, or with both men exiting the company at the same time.

#1 Triple H

A match between these two men would be amazing

If you’re looking for a WrestleMania opponent, then few are better than Triple H. Even at almost 50 years of age, the man performs better than many superstars half his age.

Triple H always looks to perform at grand events, and WrestleMania is the grandest one.

A storyline between the two men could continue from their face-off from last week’s Raw, and lead to a match between the two men at WrestleMania.

Even though Triple H had suffered an injury at Crown Jewel that required surgery and a few months to heal, we have learned that he has been allowed to return to training.

This could be an indication that he will be fit enough to have a match at WrestleMania where the stakes could be high, and Ambrose’s loss to the chairman's son-in-law will be the perfect way for WWE to let the star exit the company.
