WWE is the biggest pro wrestling organization in the world, boasting over a billion fans on social media. Countless aspiring wrestlers work hard for years on end in hopes of becoming WWE Superstars. Very few manage to achieve the dream though.

WWE's storied history is filled with Superstars who had always dreamt about becoming a wrestler and winning the big one. An example that many fans cite is that of Edge, who was a WWE fan from the very beginning. He watched WrestleMania 6 as a fan, and would headline The Show of Shows 18 years later, against The Undertaker.

On the other hand, there have been Superstars who had other aspirations in their mind, while growing up, and had no interest in becoming a WWE Superstar. In the following list, we will take a look at three Superstars who didn't have an interest in becoming WWE Superstars while growing up, and three who wanted to become wrestlers when they were kids.

#6 Lacey Evans (wasn't interested in becoming a wrestler while growing up)

A long time before becoming a WWE Superstar, Lacey Evans wasn't a pro wrestling fan at all, and had other aspirations when she was a teen. Evans spoke about the same in an interview with Alex McCarthy, and revealed that she engaged in high-school wrestling, which is a completely different ballgame than sports entertainment.

"I wasn't a fan at all. I actually did high school wrestling. Which is obviously so much different than sports entertainment. I was on a SWAT team, the military police in the marine core, and I had a staff sergeant who did, what I thought was, backyard wrestling."
"So I kind of chuckled like, 'what are you talking about?' I'm very rough and I've got a lot of grit, so there was something about backyard wrestling that made me like 'can I come see?' There was something about it that made me want to do it. I didn't know what it was but it sounded intriguing."

Lacey Evans is currently involved in a romantic angle with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair

Lacey Evans made her way to WWE's main roster in early 2019, and targeted Becky Lynch following her historic WrestleMania 35 victory. Evans has yet to win a title in WWE, and is currently involved in a romantic storyline with WWE legend Ric Flair, much to Charlotte Flair's chagrin. She has the required skills to make it big in WWE, and here's hoping she wins a title belt soon.

#5 Christian (wanted to become a wrestler when he was young)

Christian and Edge were both pro wrestling fans while growing up in Canada, and wanted to become WWE Superstars someday in the future. Fans must be aware that both Edge and Christian were in attendance at WrestleMania VI, which saw Hulk Hogan losing the WWE title to The Ultimate Warrior in the main event. Years later, both Edge and Christian had become mainstays on WWE TV, and were being featured on RAW as a part of The Brood.

Christian is a two-time WWE World Champion

The duo did incredibly well as a WWE Tag Team, and defeated The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz in consecutive Triple Threat matches at WrestleManias 16 and 17.

Here's Edge talking about his relationship with Christian:

"Just so happened to find two people – same mindset, same drive, same goal. That to me is the crazy part. and the fact that we stuck to it is because we had each other to lean on throughout the years, but to get there, to go through all the training, to wrestle in the barns in Fall Branch, TN and go through all of that stuff and then eventually at WrestleMania 16 to be standing there on top of the table holding the tag team belts, just all very, very surreal at times."

While Edge went on to become a multiple-time World Champion and one of the greatest heels in the business, Christian didn't achieve the same kind of success. He did win the World title on two occasions though. In an interesting tidbit, WrestleMania VI was attended by former WWE announcer Renee Paquette, and WWE veteran Lance Storm as well.

#4 Big Show (wasn't interested in becoming a wrestler while growing up)

Before going to WWE, Big Show had a brief stint in WCW during the 90s, and was an integral part of the roster during the Monday Night Wars. He won the WCW World title on two occasions, and later made his way to WWE in 1999.

While speaking with Hindustan Times, Big Show once revealed that although he liked wrestling while growing up, he had no intention of becoming a professional wrestler and join WWE/WCW.

"It is funny because my plan originally was to become a basketball player. However, I always loved two things while growing up — basketball and wrestling. As a youth I didn't even consider being a professional wrestler or a sports entertainer."

Big Show did incredibly well in WWE

Big Show did very well as a WWE Superstar, and won multiple World titles during his stint in the company. He was always presented as an unstoppable monster on WWE TV, and mostly portrayed the role of a villain. Big Show hasn't been on WWE TV for a while, and it's safe to say that his time as a full-time wrestler has come to an end.

#3 Drew McIntyre (wanted to become a wrestler when he was young)

Drew McIntyre is currently one of the biggest Superstars in WWE, as well as the pro wrestling business. He had always wanted to become a pro wrestler, and once recalled what his mom told him when he decided to start pro wrestling training at the age of 11.

"I would say, 'There's this guy in Newcastle training people.' My mother said, 'No, you're 11 years old. You're absolutely not doing that.' The next year I'd find somebody else who was offering wrestling training in a little ad in a magazine. 'Drew, you're absolutely not doing it."

Drew McIntyre is all set to defend his WWE title against Goldberg

Drew McIntyre finally got his shot at glory when he eliminated Brock Lesnar from the 2020 Royal Rumble match, and went on to win the whole thing.

McIntyre later won the WWE title from Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 36, and is currently in his second reign as Champion. He will defend his WWE title against Goldberg at the 2021 Royal Rumble event.

#2 Brock Lesnar (wasn't interested in becoming a wrestler while growing up)

Brock Lesnar is one of the most dominant heels to ever step foot in a WWE ring. He made his WWE debut in the spring of 2002, after honing his craft in OVW for around two years.

Brock Lesnar wasn't interested in pro wrestling while growing up on a dairy farm, to the point that he didn't even know who Vince McMahon was. As per Jim Ross, Lesnar was fed up with being broke, before he bagged a contract with WWE around two decades ago.

"We had Brock committed and on his way along with Shelton Benjamin, on their way to Louisville within days of the wrestling season being over literally that week. I wasn't worried about it whatsoever. Brock was tired of being broke, and I remember he got the biggest rookie contract to that point. He was a no miss guy."

Brock Lesnar is a multiple-time WWE Champion

Brock Lesnar had two stints with WWE, and was pushed as one of the most dangerous entities in the company during both runs. He is the first Superstar to have broken The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak, and has squashed WWE legends like John Cena and Randy Orton on big stages.

#1 Becky Lynch (wanted to become a wrestler when she was young)

WWE Superstar Becky Lynch is currently on hiatus that kicked off last year when she announced her pregnancy. The Man rose to superstardom in 2018, when she turned on Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam. Months later, she had defeated both Flair and Ronda Rousey in the first main event in WrestleMania history, to become a double Women's Champion.

While talking with ESPN, Lynch opened up on being a fan while growing up, and starting training early on.

"I was completely out of shape. I had no drive. I was drinking. I was smoking things you shouldn't be smoking. And I [thought], 'This is ridiculous. I'm 15 years old -- I need to get it together."

Becky Lynch is one of the biggest WWE Superstars of the modern era

Becky Lynch met Finn Balor in 2002, when she was just 15-years-old. Thus, her pro wrestling journey kicked off and she never looked back. Lynch made her way to WWE's main roster in 2015, and was headlining WrestleMania in a matter of four years. There's no news yet as to whether Lynch will come back to WWE in the near future, but her fans would want nothing but to see her come back for another stint with the company.
