4 Young stars who John Cena should consider wrestling at WrestleMania 35

For weeks now, we've been hearing that John Cena does indeed have a match planned for WWE WrestleMania, and if these rumors are to be believed, it won't be against Kurt Angle, but with the current roster the way it is, there are plenty of options out there for The Face that Runs the Place. There's been a lot of hate for Cena online for years, and a lot of that stems from the fact that he never put younger talent over, but in recent years, he's changed that, putting over the likes of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, AJ Styles and more.

All of those guys have big WrestleMania matches planned, and while we'd love to see Cena wrestle an old rival in Kurt Angle, that's not an option, so today we are going to look at 4 young stars that we'd love to see Big Match John put over on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

#4 Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali was just announced in a group of 26 people for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but that can be changed quickly, and given how much support he has on Smackdown Live, this is a fantastic option. 'The Heart and Soul of SmackDown' is an all-around fantastic performer, and while he's not a solidified main event performer right now, taking a 16-time Champion like John to the limit would truly put him on the map.

The injury he suffered several months ago was highly unfortunate, but it's led to the rise of KofiMania, so it's at least clear the WWE have big plans for him, and there's no bigger stage for him than standing across from John Cena at WrestleMania. Since he was announced for the Battle Royal, it's unlikely to be Ali, but the WWE are known for changing plans, and this is one we'd all like to see.

#3 Andrade

Andrade is one of the most promising performers the WWE have had in years, and with Zelina Vega by his side, there's nothing that El Idolo can't accomplish, and a victory over John Cena at WrestleMania gives him the momentum he deserves going forward. Ever since being called up from NXT, Andrade has been getting stop/start pushes, with the only significant rivalry against Rey Mysterio, and he proved through their series of bouts that he could be one of the best in the entire WWE.

Like Ali, Andrade has been announced for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but he's just too good for a spot like that, and the arrogant newcomer up against the gatekeeper like Cena is a great story to tell. Again, we have absolutely no clue what direction the WWE are going to go in, but they need to use Cena to elevate a rising star, and in the WWE, there are few rising stars with the talent of Andrade, so this would be a great match.

#2 Aleister Black

This week on RAW, Ricochet and Aleister Black are challenging for the RAW Tag Team Championships, and if they don't come out on top, the former NXT Champion is a perfect challenge for John Cena at WrestleMania. Black is an incredible performer inside the ring, and he carries a great presence and aura with him, so a showdown with the WWE's biggest star of this past generation makes complete sense to truly solidify him as a top star for the future.

With Smackdown Live moving to Fox and wanting to push a more sports themed show, a performer with the striking ability of Black is a great choice to be in the main event, and a classic with Cena will put him on the map for that chance. Rumours are that a RAW Tag Team title match isn't planned for WrestleMania, so either Black or Ricochet in this spot would be amazing, but given the polar opposites in their character, this would be perfect for Aleister.

#1 Velveteen Dream

The Velveteen Dream is the most flamboyant, captivating and charismatic performer that WWE NXT has produced in quite some time, and he's made no secret about wrestling John Cena at WrestleMania as something he'd like to do. The Dream has a showdown with Matt Riddle for his North American Championship at NXT Takeover: New York just two days before WrestleMania, and whatever the result of that bout, we'd love to see The Dream on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

He's just a young kid still, so we'd understand if the WWE wanted to keep him down in NXT for at least another year, but if they want to make a big splash at WrestleMania, then this would be a great and unexpected call. It's unlikely to happen, and the WWE are intent on keeping Cena's opponent a secret, but if they want to go for the best shock value and a man who will truly shine on the brightest stage, then this is a bout we must see.
