WWE has always been known as the land of the giants. Vince McMahon is partial to a particular body type and usually pushes tall men with chiseled physiques as main eventers.

There appeared to be a change in mindset during the last decade after CM Punk and Daniel Bryan became two of the biggest stars in WWE, but the company seems to be reverting to the former type after the emergence of AEW.

With that being said, here are the five best powerhouses in WWE:

#5 Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley

Despite initially struggling to find his footing after returning to WWE, Bobby Lashley has established himself as one of the company's most formidable powerhouses over the last couple of years.

Ever since his defeat to Aleister Black at WrestleMania 36, Lashley has torn through the RAW roster. With MVP in his corner, the former Impact Wrestling star defeated The Miz to win the WWE Championship and embark on a 196-day run with the title.

Lashley recently dropped the WWE Championship after Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. The All Mighty was vulnerable after defending the title against Randy Orton, allowing Big E to capitalize.

#4 Former NXT Champion Samoa Joe

One of the greatest professional wrestlers of the modern era, Samoa Joe, was recently forced to vacate the NXT title due to injury. Joe returned to NXT earlier this year and started a feud with Karion Kross, a dominant champion.

The Submission Machine captured the title from Kross at TakeOver 36, becoming the first three-time NXT Champion in history. Over his career, Joe's ability to combine his incredible moveset with sound in-ring psychology has made his matches compelling.

Joe has put on 5-star matches with the likes of CM Punk, Kenta Kobashi and AJ Styles in the past. He won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Most Outstanding Wrestler award for 2005.

#3 WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg

Since his debut in 1997, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has been booked as an unstoppable force. He ascended through the ranks by squashing other performers, and the crowd was completely invested in him. There was a great deal of interest in Goldberg's undefeated streak, which ended with an official count of 173 wins.

A former defensive tackle in the NFL, Goldberg is gifted with power and explosiveness. He can perform the jackhammer on someone as large as the Big Show and still do backflips.

While Goldberg's first run with WWE was a disappointment, he made up for it when he returned to the company in 2016. The University of Georgia product won his grudge match with Brock Lesnar and even captured the Universal Championship.

#2 Former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar

With his new look, Brock Lesnar has completed his transformation into the modern-day Goro -- the video game boss of WWE. An athletic specimen with no equal, Lesnar is capable of throwing around giants like the Big Show and clocking an impressive 100-yard sprint.

The Beast Incarnate's matches also feature a level of violence that sets them apart from the rest of the industry. While Lesnar's presence and physical charisma would be enough to make him a monster, he also has an impressive set of legitimate credentials.

Lesnar is an NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion in collegiate wrestling and a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. He defeated the legendary Randy Couture in his fourth professional MMA fight.

#1 Current Universal Champion Roman Reigns

Since being repackaged as the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns has arguably become the biggest star in professional wrestling. With Paul Heyman in his corner, Reigns' matches and segments are the most entertaining parts of SmackDown.

The Georgia Tech product has also run through some of the biggest names in WWE including Finn Balor, Rey Mysterio and Kevin Owens. Reigns even stacked Edge and Daniel Bryan on top of each other before pinning both simultaneously in the main event of WrestleMania 37.

During this run, Reigns has unveiled a new submission move, the guillotine choke, which is a staple in MMA. The hold is perfect for Reigns, who has used it to submit many a foe. With his strong style of wrestling and arsenal of hard-hitting moves, he is one of the best powerhouses on the roster today.
