Triple H does not have the best record at WrestleMania. He has lost more of his matches than he has won, but some of his matches delivered beyond what anyone could expect.

Over the years, Triple H has faced multiple different stars. His entrances at the event have been some of the highlights of previous WrestleManias. There were some matches that failed to deliver in every sense of the term. However, others have gone down as some of the best in the history of the event.

Triple H has faced wrestlers that have since gone down in legend.

In this article, let's look at five of his best WrestleMania matches.

#5 Triple H vs Chris Jericho (WrestleMania X8)

Triple H faced Chris Jericho at WrestleMania X8. When they faced each other, the only thing taking away from the bout was that The Rock faced Hulk Hogan in one of the best WrestleMania matches of all time earlier in the night.

Still, the match was for the undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Triple H had only recently returned from a long injury-related hiatus. The match was technically great as well. Jericho focused on Triple H's quad injury and this helped turn his home crowd against him. Unusually, Jericho also had Stephanie McMahon in his corner for the match.

Triple H had a lot of work to do but he got the momentum of the crowd behind him. He was able to overcome Jericho's offense and it was a typical Triple H-style match. The Cerebral Assassin slowly came back, taking Jericho apart, before he managed to defeat him.

The only negative point about the match was that it seemingly ended out of nowhere. The storyline and audience manipulation still makes this one of Triple H's best matches at WrestleMania.

Triple H won the undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Championship, completing a great career comeback from his injury the year prior.

#4 Triple H vs Randy Orton vs John Cena (WrestleMania XXIV)

Triple H missed the 2007 WrestleMania event thanks to an injury. When he competed at next year's WrestleMania, it was one of his best matches yet.

In 2008, John Cena won the Royal Rumble, returning from his injury at the event as a surprise. Soon after, Triple H won the Elimination Chamber to compete for the championship as well.

As a result, Randy Orton, John Cena and Triple H all faced each other at WrestleMania XXIV. The action between the three men was some of the best in their collective careers. John Cena tried a double Attitude Adjustment and all three of them brought out their big guns, trying innovative moves to get the better of each other during the proceedings.

Orton was made out to be an underdog and he looked to take advantage of the other two being distracted at various points. In the end, Randy Orton won it, but the match was one of the better ones that all three were involved in.

#3 Triple H vs Daniel Bryan (WrestleMania XXX)

The build to Triple H's WrestleMania XXX match was chaotic and gave rise to some of the most uncertainty surrounding the event to date. The lead-up to WrestleMania helped build Daniel Bryan as the main event superstar that he is today.

Triple H was in the match as an obstacle for Daniel Bryan on his path to the main event of WrestleMania. Bryan's popularity was off the charts at the time. The fans felt that he had been cheated out of the title opportunity for too long and that it was his time. The fan support helped WWE decide that it was time to give Bryan the push that everyone was asking for.

When Bryan faced Triple H, it was one of the best matches of both of their careers. Bryan brought the offense and Triple H was there to support him. The action was supported by the crowd as they were completely behind Bryan throughout, cheering and hot for him. So when he won, it was one of the best moments in WrestleMania history.

#2 Triple H vs Chris Benoit vs Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania XX)

Triple H's match against Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit at WrestleMania XX might be the best technical match in the event's history. Unfortunately, the match has forever been marred by the actions of one of the participants.

While it can never be watched without Benoit's legacy hovering over it, the match was still one of the best of all time. Triple H and Shawn Michaels' chemistry was unquestionable. Adding Chris Benoit to the mix simply worked.

Despite what happened later, the match can never be forgotten. The one-on-one interactions interrupted by the third man helped to extend it and made the audience hold their breath, unsure who was going to win.

All three superstars seemed to have a message to send during the match and their performance was a statement. With Shawn Michaels pouring blood, the extremely exciting ending segment of the match sees it up in the history books of the best WrestleMania matches of all time. Chris Benoit's win was an emotional one at the time, despite his actions in the future.

#1 Triple H vs The Undertaker (End of an Era) (WrestleMania XXVIII)

Triple H's match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVII was the more technical match between the two. However, when the time came for their End of an Era match, everything was more special.

They faced each other inside the Hell in a Cell structure. Shawn Michaels was the guest referee for the match. Shawn's friendship with Triple H and his previous matches with The Undertaker that led to his retirement all added to the atmosphere going into it.

The emotion was evident for everyone in attendance and even for those watching at home. Whatever the outcome, it symbolized the end of one of WWE's brightest eras.

The Undertaker's streak seemed more immortal than ever as he refused to bow before the King of Kings. Triple H hit him with everything he had and at one point, even Shawn Michaels attempted to help his friend. HBK added layers to the story through his indecisiveness and it was enough to break anyone's heart.

In the end, The Undertaker could not be overcome. He kicked out of everything and hit Triple H with his final move, the Tombstone. Shawn Michaels counted the pin and it was over.

The three men stood together at the end of the night in a moment that no one can forget. All three men call that night one of the most significant of their lives — and so it will live on in wrestling legend.
