5 Better opponents for Brock Lesnar at WWE Super ShowDown

Last night on Monday Night RAW, it was made official that Ricochet would be challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship when the company makes the trip over to the Middle East at the end of the month.

In recent weeks, Brock Lesnar and WWE's resident superhero have had their own issues since Lesnar low-blowed Ricochet a few weeks ago on RAW and the former United States Champion then returned the favor when he low-blowed Lesnar to help Drew McIntyre to eliminate The Beast from The Royal Rumble last weekend.

Whilst it was somewhat predictable that Ricochet would be the man to come out on top and challenge Lesnar, WWE had so many better options at their fingertips and instead went for a man who Lesnar will destroy in seconds.

#5. Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley was part of the triple threat match that main evented RAW last night, but interestingly it wasn't The Almighty who came out on top. After weeks of being entangled in one of the most embarrassing storylines of his career, WWE definitely owes Lashley at least a WWE Championship match.

Lashley is a man who has MMA experience and could easily brush aside Lesnar if he was given the chance. The former Intercontinental Champion revealed that he was working towards a match with Lesnar a few years ago, but WWE seemingly scrapped the plan.

Lashley vs Lesnar could be a match that the WWE Universe would be invested in and it would be a much better use of Lashley's time than the recent storyline he has been part of alongside Lana, Liv Morgan, and Rusev.

Hopefully even though this match is yet to happen, there are seeds being planted ahead of a potential showdown.

#4. Rusev

Rusev was once part of an intense feud with John Cena which saw both men raise the profile of the United States Championship. The Bulgarian Brute, much like Lashley has since been lowered to a soap opera style feud with Lana over the past few months since Mike and Maria Kanellis requested their WWE release.

Rusev has proved numerous times that he has what it takes to be one of the company's top dogs and now that his issues with Lana and Bobby Lashley look to be a thing of the past, there is nothing stopping Rusev from moving forward.

Rusev's future in WWE is somewhat uncertain at present and it's hard to blame the star for not wanting to re-sign with WWE, after the losses that he has had to put up with throughout this somewhat embarrassing feud.

The former United States Champion needs to become The Bulgarian Brute once again and there would be no better way of doing this than allowing Rusev to test his mettle against Brock Lesnar in Saudi Arabia.

#3. Kevin Owens

It could be argued that Kevin Owens has his own issues at present since he's the man who's standing in The Monday Night Messiah's way right now, but that isn't enough to stop him from competing for the WWE Championship.

Owens is a former Universal Champion and has proved over and over again that he could be trusted to lead the company or at the very least be the man to step up to Lesnar in the Middle East. One of the only things that could hold Owens back when it comes to his Championship hopes is the fact that he refuses to travel to Saudi Arabia.

The former Champion told WWE that he wouldn't travel to the Middle East back in May last year ahead of Super ShowDown, and then wasn't part of the card for last year's Crown Jewel event either.

It's unknown as to whether or not Owens has changed his stance on travelling to the Middle East and if he has, why wasn't he the man given the match with Brock Lesnar.

#2. Goldberg

For some reason, Goldberg has decided to make his return to WWE on the SmackDown brand this time around, which means that he will probably be challenging Roman Reigns at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on February 27th.

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar had a fantastic back and forth in 2016 leading all the way through to WrestleMania 33 where Lesnar was finally able to reclaim the Universal Championship.

Lesnar and Goldberg were never given the chance to wrestle one another in Saudi Arabia, and since the former WCW star's last match in the Middle East is one he's trying to forget, it could have been a great idea for him to return and approach a rematch with Lesnar.

Brock has to hold the Championship until WrestleMania now so that he can wrestle Drew McIntyre, so there's nothing topping Goldberg from being another man that The Beast has brushed aside, after all, it's in the Middle East so these matches rarely lead to anything on the company's main show after WWE returns to the states.

#1. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio has had an interesting feud with Brock Lesnar over the past few months but even though Mysterio and his son Dominik were attacked by Lesnar, the Master of the 619 was unable to exact any kind of revenge.

Mysterio vs Brock Lesnar is an already made rivalry that could have taken place in the Middle East and finally allowed Dominik to make his in-ring debut. WWE's shows in Saudi Arabia are seen as glorified house shows by the talent, so it would be the perfect place for Dominik to get some much-needed experience in front of the crowd.

Dominik was never able to get his own back on the WWE Champion for the assault that he was part of before Cain Velasquez then stepped up and was also defeated in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

If Mysterio has been taken out of action after that DDT at the hands of Angel Garza then there's nothing stopping Dominik from stepping in under a mask and fighting for his father's reputation instead.
