Will the gong strike at WrestleMania?

We are less than five days away from WrestleMania 34 and the excitement among the WWE Universe is palpable! However, the go-home shows of Raw and SmackDown Live were underwhelming, to say the least.

The shows were filled with too many promo packages, constant adverts and basically almost nothing to propel the WrestleMania storylines. However, there were some good moments on the shows, with a few segments having great implications on the WrestleMania 34 card.

However, there is still some mystery surrounding the WrestleMania card, with the rumor mill working overtime about what will transpire at the Showcase of the Immortals.

So, without further ado, here are the five biggest questions heading into WrestleMania.

#5 Braun Strowman's mystery partner

'Brains Strowman' destroyed Cesaro on Raw this past week
'Brains Strowman' destroyed Cesaro on Raw this past week

While it was expected that 'The Monster Among Men' would reveal his partner on the go-home Raw before WrestleMania, it was not the case. Instead what the fans witnessed was a hilarious segment during which Braun Strowman donned a white shirt and some glasses and came out claiming to be Braun's brother 'Brains Strowman'.

What this implies is WWE will reveal the mystery partner only at WrestleMania, and strong speculation going around is that it will be none other than Bray Wyatt, probably repackaged in some other avatar.

This doesn't seem too likely though, as Bray Wyatt was shown forming an alliance of sorts with Matt Hardy during Live Events, even being referred to as 'Woken' Wyatt. Looks like WWE is teasing the fans to keep them guessing till the actual partner is revealed, and personally, I'm loving the anticipation going into WrestleMania.

#4 The John Cena-Undertaker situation

Why is John Cena vs The Undertaker still yet to be confirmed?
Will the Deadman even have a match at 'Mania?

Most fans, including myself, were almost sure that The Undertaker would appear on the final Raw before WrestleMania and accept Cena's challenge, thus making their match official at WrestleMania. But fans were left baffled as the Deadman no-showed yet again.

While this seemed like a questionable decision by WWE at first, on second thought, this decision has just made the Show of Shows more exciting than ever. It is almost a given that The Phenom will make an appearance at the PPV and till he appears, the fans will wait with bated breath for the gong to strike. A genius move by the WWE.

#3 Will Daniel Bryan lose his first match back?

Possibly the most popular Superstar in WWE today. Will he lose at 'Mania?

Daniel Bryan along with Shane McMahon will take on the duo of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania, with the stipulation that Zayn and Owens will remain fired if they lose the bout.

However, this is also Bryan's first match in more than 2 years, after he was medically cleared to perform in the ring again. With the kind of fan support Bryan receives week after week, WWE just cannot afford to have him lose his first match back in front of a raucous crowd of more than 70,000.

The only logical option here would be to have the notorious duo lose the match, thus continue being fired from SmackDown Live and have them show up on the Raw after WrestleMania as the newest members of the roster.

But again, who can say what WWE has planned? Maybe Bryan will end up losing after all.

#2 The Queen vs The Empress

Will Charlotte be the one to break Asuka's streak

Charlotte will face off against Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship come Sunday at The Grandest Stage Of Them All. While The Queen is set to defend her crown, Asuka will not only be fighting to win the Championship but will also be looking to keep her now-legendary winning streak intact.

Asuka now seems like the odds-on favorite to win, but how long can WWE keep going with her streak? Though it was much hyped during her NXT run, the streak has lost its significance on the main roster. Because of this, it might not be the best decision to keep going with the streak, until the fans no longer care.

Of course, there is also the looming possibility of Carmella cashing in her MITB contract at 'Mania, breaking the streak AND winning the title at the same time. While it is debatable whether the Princess of Staten Island is ready for such a huge push, it certainly would be shocking, to say the least.

#1 Who will end the show?

Pyro was a big part of making the WWE feel like a spectacle
Will it be the same scene this year too?

In my opinion, there are three possible matches/segments that can close the biggest wrestling show in the world.

1) The most logical choice: AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura. Simple logic dictates that the winner of the Royal Rumble gets to main-event WrestleMania. This will definitely make the hardcore fans happy. But the likelihood of this happening does not seem too high.

2) The most likely choice: Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar. It is no secret that this WrestleMania is set to be the crowning moment for Roman Reigns. Frankly, I could get onboard with this - after all, the Universal Championship is the highest prize in the company and after seeing the build-up to the feud, the actual bout is set to an intense, physical one and might finally sell the fans on 'The Big Dog'.

3) Offbeat choice: Cena comes down to the ring yet again and starts saying that the last hope for the Deadman to show up has been vanquished as WrestleMania is about to close. And it finally happens. The gong strikes, and out comes the Deadman, with WrestleMania closing out with either a match or a stare-off (to head into a future feud) between the two.
