5 biggest questions from WWE RAW, NXT, and SmackDown this week

Did WWE make the right calls this week?
Did WWE make the right calls this week?

The second night of the WWE Draft took place on Monday night. RAW retained some of its biggest superstars while also pulling Becky Lynch into the brand. Has the draft left the Blue Brand's roster a little too fragile this year?

On SmackDown, Paul Heyman's loyalty continued to be questioned despite making sure The Usos stayed with Reigns. The first rounds of King of the Ring and Queen's Crown also took place.

There were multiple burning questions after the week got over. From Big E's next challenger to NXT Championships, WWE has opened up many possibilities.

Here are the five biggest questions from WWE RAW, NXT, and SmackDown this week.

#5. Should Drew McIntyre be taking on Big E for the WWE Championship?

Drew McIntyre set his sights on Big E and the WWE Championship on RAW last week. This week, Big E called out The Scottish Warrior, who has now been drafted the SmackDown.

The two men were interrupted by Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. The angle led to a tag team match. After picking up the win, McIntyre and Big E agreed to meet for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel.

Why is Drew McIntyre challenging Big E for the title even though he's been drafted to SmackDown now? Will a loss at Crown Jewel hurt The Scottish Warrior's chances to get a Universal Championship match? Or will Big E give up his title to the superstar on the show?

It looks like Big E will be retaining his title at Crown Jewel by all means. This might hurt McIntyre's image as he has not been part of the WWE Championship picture for a long time.

Instead, WWE could have given some other superstars a chance to face McIntyre for the title at Crown Jewel. Could Jinder Mahal or Dolph Ziggler have been better opponents for Big E in Saudi Arabia?

#4. Why did Jeff Hardy lose his last match on WWE RAW before his move?

Jeff Hardy has been drafted to WWE SmackDown. He got another shot at Damian Priest’s United States Championship before the move.

In the end, Priest rolled up Hardy with a crucifix pin for the win. After the match, Austin Theory came out to attack The Charismatic Enigma.

Why did the company book another segment to humiliate the veteran on RAW? Have the creatives not learned from their past mistakes involving Jeff Hardy?

WWE could have booked Theory to take on The Archer of Infamy for the title. Instead, Hardy took another loss before being taken down by the young superstar.

#3. Is Isaiah “Swerve” Scott going to lose his WWE NXT North American Championship soon?

Isaiah “Swerve” Scott has held the NXT North American Championship since June 2021. However, the NXT Superstar has not defended his title till now.

On the first night of this year’s Draft, Scott moved to the SmackDown brand along with the rest of Hit Row. It was a surprise move as fans expected Legado Del Fantasma to move to the main roster.

Scott will now finally defend his title for the first time against Santos Escobar on an episode of SmackDown. Is Scott going to lose his title on his first defense?

WWE could have taken the title off Scott before his move to the main roster. That could have helped the company book a better match without such a predictable result.

#2. Is Joe Gacy going to find himself in a WWE NXT Championship match soon?

Tommaso Ciampa wanted to find the next challenger for his WWE NXT Championship this week. Bronn Breakker was more than happy to step up to The Blackheart and demand a shot at the title.

Ciampa gladly accepted his challenge for a championship match at Halloween Havoc. Later in the night, Joe Gracy stood up to Ciampa and demanded his title match.

The Blackheart booked a match between him and Gacy for next week, giving him a chance to enter the title match at Halloween Havoc if he won. Is Ciampa going to lose on Tuesday so that Gacy can enter the NXT title picture?

WWE will need to find a way to protect both Ciampa and Breakker at Halloween Havoc. Gacy might become the perfect scapegoat in the process.

#1. Is Sonya Deville going to return to the ring on SmackDown?

Sonya Deville has denied Naomi a chance to compete on WWE SmackDown for several weeks. The two women had another argument on Friday night before Deville booked a match between herself and The Glow.

Deville last competed in the WWE at SummerSlam 2020. Will she be returning to the ring next Friday night? Or will the creative team pull off a swerve?

It will be very abrupt to bring Sonya Deville back to the ring if the match goes ahead. Instead, WWE could look to debut Xia Li by allowing Deville to go back on her word.
