The WWE Hall of Fame has honored those who have made significant contributions to WWE or professional wrestling as a whole. However, the Hall of Fame is not limited solely to wrestlers but has also included several celebrities.

Over the years, a select few celebrities have been able to leave an indelible mark on WWE history but have yet to be given their due recognition by being inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame.

In this list, we will look at five celebrities who should be inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame.

#5. Fred Durst is a celebrity who should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for his musical contributions

Musicians are no strangers to the WWE Hall of Fame. In recent years, we have seen the likes of Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock, and Ozzy Osbourne being inducted. Few musicians, however, are as deeply entrenched into WWE lore as Fred Durst.

For a generation of wrestling fans who started watching WWF in the late 90s to the early 2000s, Limp Bizkit's music was the defining soundtrack of the late Attitude Era.

Aside from performing The Undertaker's iconic "Rollin" entrance theme, the group also performed the theme songs to two amazing WrestleManias.

Limp Bizkit's frontman Fred Durst, in particular, was a very recognizable face to the fans of the time. Aside from his unmistakable vocals on the many songs he and his band performed, Durst would also appear on the Undertaker's entrance video and performed his theme song live at WrestleMania 19.

Most memorably, Durst appeared as a secret character in Smackdown and was the first celebrity to be featured in a WWE video game. Although no longer a prominent part of WWE today, Durst is still a wrestling fan and has been spotted in the crowd at various WWE events over the years.

For performing the soundtrack fondly remembered by a generation of wrestling fans, Fred Durst is more than deserving of an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

#4. Lawrence Taylor should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for his main event match at WrestleMania

Among the celebrities in the WWE Hall of Fame, few have been able to stand toe to toe in a match with a WWE superstar. Former NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor, however, was more than willing to rise to the challenge.

Taylor was not only deemed worthy enough to be given a match at WrestleMania but was bestowed with the honor of main eventing the Showcase of the Immortals in 1995.

Taylor was the first celebrity to main event WrestleMania since Mr.T, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014.

Working alongside a wrestler as capable as Bam Bam Bigelow and with the special supervision of referee Pat Patterson, Taylor put on a better match than most would expect and was respectful of the industry he was performing for.

Although Taylor's involvement in the wrestling business has been fairly limited since 1995, his serviceable performance and necessary star power at the time is more than deserving of an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

#3. David Arquette should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for being the only celebrity to win a world title

Among the celebrities in WWE's Hall of Fame, very few can be considered actual wrestling fans.

David Arquette, however, has never been shy about his lifelong love for wrestling. Unfortunately, he has been a polarizing figure to wrestling fans for many years.

After starring in the WCW-produced film Ready To Rumble, the decision was made to have Arquette crowned as the WCW World Champion. A decision so bad that Arquette himself was unwilling to go along with it initially, fans hated the fact that a 150-pound actor could win a world title.

However, in recent years, Arquette has been able to prove himself to the fans. Starting off with a WWE appearance in 2010, Arquette has wrestled for various promotions and has demonstrated himself to be a capable worker with respect for the business and a willingness to take big risks.

Although his career in the ring may be controversial, to say the least, Arquette has demonstrated a love and passion for the wrestling industry that few celebrities have. That is more than worthy of an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

#2. Muhammad Ali should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for being the first celebrity to enter professional wrestling

To put it simply, Muhammad Ali deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame for being the first renowned name to lend his star power to the professional wrestling industry.

Without Ali, we would not have seen the likes of Mike Tyson and Tyson Fury stepping in a WWE ring.

Ali was the perfect fit for the wrestling world. His eloquence on the mic and his larger-than-life persona allowed him to seamlessly transition from boxing to wrestling.

His encounter with Gorilla Monsoon and fight with Antonio Inoki helped launch wrestling into the mainstream media in the 70s.

Even in his retirement and in the midst of his battle with Parkinson's disease, Ali appeared at the very first WrestleMania and embarked on a diplomatic mission to North Korea with Antonio Inoki, Ric Flair, and other WCW wrestlers.

Aside from being the first big name to appear in wrestling, many would contend that Ali remains the biggest celebrity to ever appear in the wrestling business.

Ali's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame is not only well deserved but long overdue.

#1. Cyndi Lauper should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for her role in launching the company into the mainstream

Speaking of long overdue WWE Hall of Fame inductions, Cyndi Lauper was an integral part of the early days of WWF's mainstream success. Had it not been for a chance encounter between her and Captain Lou Albano, the Rock n Wrestling Connection may not have happened.

Lauper was one of the world's biggest stars in the 80s and had struck a friendship with Albano, whom she had asked to act in her music video. Albano soon convinced her to appear on WWF, and the rest was history.

Lauper was soon rubbing shoulders with Hulk Hogan and the rest of WWF's top superstars. Many wrestlers also appeared in her music videos, and more mainstream attention was given to the WWF thanks to her involvement.

Lauper was instrumental in converting WWF from a gritty New York wrestling territory to an over-the-top entertainment success. Had it not been for her, the WWE as we know it today may not even have existed.

While Muhammad Ali brought professional wrestling to the mainstream, Cyndi Lauper helped bring the WWE to the very pinnacle of pop culture.
