5 Controversial Things WWE Must Do At The Super Show-Down Pay Per View

Dean Ambrose, WWE,
Will WWE break up The Shield at Super Show-Down?

The clock is counting down to WWE's big show in Melbourne, Australia, and while it's not one of WWE's big four pay per view, it is still something that fans shouldn't take lightly. In fact, although the Universal title won't be on the line, there are still quite a few matches that can change or even help further shape the landscape of Raw and Smackdown Live.

With that being said and an anything can happen kind of nature surrounding the upcoming pay per view, here are five controversial things the WWE must do in order for the Super Show-Down pay per view a success.

As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and also be sure to tell us what you want to happen at Superstar showdown in Melbourne Australia.

#5 Have Samoa Joe win the WWE title

Aj Styles, Samoa Joe,
Samoa Joe versus AJ Styles - who wins The WWE title in Melbourne?

AJ Styles has held on to the WWE title for almost a year now and while fans probably wouldn't mind him holding it a bit longer, it would benefit the blue brand if he lost it to Samoa Joe. Not only does that result set up an eventual title match between Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan for a later date, it also finally establishes Joe as the star he was meant to be.

Let's be honest here. WWE made this a no disqualification and no count-out match for a reason and they need to use those stipulations to give Joe the win without hurting Styles.

Of course, WWE might still be sceptical about taking the belt off of one of their golden boys, but it would really shake up the title scene in a very unpredictable way.

#4 Let Nikki Bella cost Ronda Rousey the match

Nikki Bella, WWE,
WWE needs to make things personal between Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella!

There are few things that convey a powerful message like a loss in the ring and that is exactly the strategy that WWE should take with Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella at Super Show-Down. That way, WWE hands Rousey a big loss, which the fans will go nuts for and it also perfectly sets up Bella versus Rousey for Evolution as well.

In the end, a loss to The Riott squad at Super Show-Down would be a big way to shake things up in the Women's division, give Ruby Riott the win she needs to get her career back on track and allows for Rousey and Bella to get personal.

It would also be a big way to create doubt about whether Rousey can beat Nikki, which will be great for The Evolution pay per view.

#3 Have The Miz beat Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan, WWE,
Should WWE hand Daniel Bryan another huge loss at Superstar Showdown?

While handing Daniel Bryan yet another loss against The Miz might seem like a true momentum killer and a guaranteed trip down the card, it also has the potential to be a turning point in Daniel Bryan's career. It could even be what eventually drives him back into the title picture and brings him face to face with The Miz for the strap.

Not only would that be a great way to prolong their feud until WrestleMania 35, where the storyline is expected to culminate, its an interesting way to make things personal and make the payoff even that much more sweeter for Bryan.

In the end, WWE needs to pace itself with this one and an unexpected loss could be a great way to accomplish that.

#2 Have Triple H beat The Undertaker

 The Undertaker, WWE,
Does The Undertaker really need a win at Superstar showdown?

Let's be honest here - everyone is expecting The Undertaker to come away with the win at Super Show-Down and what fun is that? Not only does it continue The Deadman's lackluster winning streak for virtually no reason, it also takes away from younger superstars that deserve the spots that The Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Kane have.

With that being said, why not switch things up and have Shawn Michaels cost Undertaker the match in Australia. It's not like its WrestleMania or anything, which means WWE would have a lot more leeway with handing The Deadman a loss. Furthermore, it wouldn't hurt Undertaker moving forward due to him being on a semi-retired schedule.

In the end, its the perfect shock to give the audience an event to remember and will only serve for Michaels to eventually come out of retirement for one more match. Of course, that opens up the possibility of Michaels and Undertaker taking away spots from younger stars, but at least its justified by being another once in a lifetime match.

#1 Have Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre beat The Shield

Dean Ambrose, WWE,
What role will Dean Ambrose play at Superstar Showdown in Australia?

The Shield are already heading for a split in the coming weeks and what better way to start that off than by handing them a critical loss? While it will kill a lot of the momentum that The Shield reunion originally generated, it will finally give Strowman the win he deserved a long time ago without putting the title on the line.

WWE also has the added comfort of teasing a Dean Ambrose heel turn, which also allows the company some breathing room when it comes to Reigns losing the match. In fact, WWE could even have Ambrose turn on Reigns and Rollins during the match and help McIntyre and Braun Strowman get the biggest win of their careers.
